grand hotel, great location

We stayed here after a Twins game. The rooms were quiet and clean. The fitness center is wonderful and the hotel has a full size swimming pool with lanes and handball courts. The free morning coffee delivered and the robes added a nice luxury feeling. Parking is a bit of a pain and was $22 for the nite, but all downtown parking is difficult. There is no car entrance to the hotel on 2nd ave, just buses and taxis. There is valet parking for a bit more money.

5 stars in the heart of Minneapolis

Everything is high end and beautiful. The fitness center is top notch even though we didn't use it. There is no in room fridge and all the mini bar items are EXPENSIVE but there is a microwave and they fill your ice bucket when they turn down the bed. The twin shower heads were amazing!

The Uffizi of Gyms in the Mill City

Service was terrific and expeditious. The hotel is a home away from home, though it at the same time gives the far away feeling of the sanitorium that Thomas Mann describes in his great novel The Magic Mountain, though I'm not sure his main character Hans Castorp would be all that comfortable here-- due to the distinctly mid America feel of the place and also Hans's condition. You press the elevator button for 3 or B and enter a fitness paradise, including pool, indoor track and basketball court.

Nice stay in a Great Location

The hotel was nice. Nothing extraordinary, but the rooms were nice size. The room was cleaned, every day, beyond reproach. However, the location was Excellent. We were only a couple blocks from all the nicest restaurants, Target Field, and a movie theatre. I really don't think our stay could have been better.

Stay here!

Perfectly located in downtown Minneapolis. Our room was amazing except our was a view of an office building about 10 ft away. My husband said the fitness center was well equipped and elegant. All the bells and whistles.

Lovely hotel

A lovely hotel. Not next door to much, but just a couple blocks from many restaurants, shops, etc, and a pretty 15 minute walk to the Walker. Hotel itself is quiet, with a terrific gym and sauna in the building, nice strong coffee downstairs in the AM, and free (and fast) WiFi. Our room wasn't particularly big, but it was nicely decorated, and had a huge bathroom with tub and separate shower, nice bath salts and soaps, and lots of towels and wonderful robes. Great stay. Parking at the hotel was expensive, but there are lots of parking places w/in a block or two that charge less ($5/day on weekends) and we found street parking most of the time.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Beautiful walk to the Walker Art Center through the shopping area and a nice park. The bridge over the big interchange by the Walker gives you a great birds-eye view of the sculpture garden.
