Missed on the Details
The lobby is beautiful, but we had a rocky start to our stay. We were put in a smaller room than we reserved. The front desk staff blamed it on the on-line booking website. After spending 30 minutes on the phone with the on-line booking website stasff, they blamed it on the hotel. The room looked out on a roof and a cement wall 10 feet away. We were finally moved to a compromise room which ended up being just fine, but not all the features were there for what we actually reserved and were charged. The pool is a cool stainless steel giant tub. The first time we went swimming there were no towels and the soap dispenser was empty in the shower, so had to call front desk. The next day, there were used towels everywhere in locker room and still no soap. Wanted to use the in-room safe, but it was locked. An engineer had to spend twenty minutes unlocking it. In the end, our bill had a mini-bar charge on it. We never even took the key, so another call to the front desk. Upon checking out, we were not asked how our stay was. Great location. Beautiful restaurant with okay food. Connected by skywalks which is perfect for winter. Overall, trying to be four star facility, but the details were not there, so I would rate it just three star. May not book through this on-line booking website after this experience; will go straight to hotel website.

good, but not great
Westin is a nice place to stay, But I expect a bit more form a "4 star". Mini bar fridge was not on, so all beverages were warm, light bulb out in desk lamp, loud ventilation outside room, and dirty silverware with room service. These things can be dealt with, but one should not have to for the price.

Weekend in Downtown Mpls
Great staff! The room was small but very comfortable. The location worked great for our activities - 1/2 block off from Nicollet Mall and several coffee shops in area. Pool was not kid friendly. Parking expensive but probably par for Downtown Mpls.

Great weekend getaway
Our stay was really good. The room was very comfortable and roomy, we could have stayed in bed all day because the bed was so comfortable. One of the only complaints I have was that the shower handle was a little tough when you wanted to change it from cold to hot. Other then that the valet/bell hop/front desk staff were very friendly and very helpful. The security they had in the evening checking if you were a guest weren't that friendly but those are really my only complaints. I would def stay here again. The pool was amazing! We didn't use the workout center but walked by and it def had a lot of equipment for those looking to work out while away. We came into town to go to the football game and this hotel was right in the middle of the city. Wasn't a bad walk at all to the metrodome or other bars/restaurants in the area.

This hotel was very nice and had everything we needed and wanted. The staff went the extra mile and we were so impressed with the friendly and accomodating nature of everyone there. The location is perfect...we walked everywhere we went. We look forward to staying with them again!

good location, overpriced, $13 internet?!, noisy rooms and hallways, bar was closed for private party on a saturday night without notice-not cool when you book a room based on the hotel amenities and then can't use them. All the front desk would do is say sorry and it definitely wasn't a heartfelt apology! $30 valet parking per day, or don't use their overpriced service and park in the parking ramp across the street for $5 per day. probably won't stay here again.

Girls weekend!
This was the first time that I stayed at The Westin. It was a beautiful hotel and the Bank Restaurant downstairs was awesome-such great character in this hotel! The rooms were very nice and the beds were really comfortable. I thought it was a good price for the location of the hotel, too! Overall, great stay!

Holiday Visit
Spent a lovely weekend in downtown Minneapolis. Westin is a block from the light rail so dumped the rental car and took the light rail downtown from the airport- $3.50 for the 2 of us. Fast, comfortable, cheap and essentially door-step to door-step. Westin ties into the skyway system so you can hike all over downtown without exposure. Hotel is in lovely refurb of F&M Bank- Nice lobby bar/restaurant for a night cap. Room was fine- up to Westin's standard of comfort though it was view challenged. Staff was genuinely friendly instead of scripted friendly. Great get away weekend.

Don't pass up the Mill City Museum- interesting and great views of the riverfront. Gutherie is next door and worth a visit too. We happened in just before a matinee and scored some great rush seats.
