Once-historic bank becomes modern Minneapolis luxury
The downtown Westin Minneapolis is a faithful blend of historic significance and modern luxury. Transformed from the Farmers & Mechanics Bank, this Tony four-star hotel retains the original World War II era woodwork, marble staircase and vaulted lobby. Guest rooms are equipped with modern amenities like MP3 players, flat-screen TVs and Internet access (fees apply). Following adventure on the town, the end-of-day rewards here are plenty: an indoor pool cloaked in midnight blue, a dimly lit cocktail lounge and a savory dish or decadent treat at B.A.N.K.
Highlights
- The penthouse patio boasts panoramic views of the city
- Original bank vault converted into a wine cellar at B.A.N.K.
- Partake in a true "no interruption" function in the hotel's vault-secured meeting room
- Walking distance to Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis Convention Center, Metrodome, Target Center and Hennepin Theatre District
Rooms
All 214 guest rooms at The Westin Minneapolis offer superior comfort. Decorated in sandstone colors blended with creams, whites and bamboo, the atmosphere is refreshingly modern. Featuring the famed Westin Heavenly Bed, all beds are dressed in rich fabrics and include dreamy touches like an ultra-thick pillow top mattress, fluffy down comforter and lots of throw pillows. Rooms at the Westin come complete for business travelers with a spacious work desk, mesh swivel chair and chaise lounge. Request an upgrade for a city or courtyard views or a private balcony.
Features
The Westin Minneapolis keeps indoor and outdoor fitness buffs in mind. Warm up in the hotel's fitness center and heated indoor pool. Golfers are minutes from the Highland Golf Course and Stonebrooke Golf Club.
Dining
Located in the lobby, B.A.N.K. offers stylish American dining. The lively open atmosphere is great for people watching across the huge center-stage oval bar and large dining room. Those looking for a quiet escape can take to the more intimate B.A.N.K. lounge for small plates and cocktails.

Great Hotel, Great Location
The Minneapolis Westin was an outstanding hotel. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable with a plasma TV. The fitness room and pool were clean and nice. The location could not have been better. We enjoyed walking to breakfast and seeing the downtown sights every morning. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My son said, I always want to stay here when we visit Minneapolis.

Very convenient, clean and comfortable!
The Westin downtown Minneapolis was in a very convenient location. The lobby was impressive and the rooms were comfortable and above expectation! The front desk wasn't in the most obviously place and the weekend brunch buffet was extremely overpriced. I'd stay again, but would suggest something complimentary in the mornings for the money you spend to stay the night there besides coffee in the rooms. Other amenities that I wish had been more convenient instead of having to request them was, in a particular, a refrigerator. But, overall you couldn't ask for a more luxury bed and bathroom. The double shower head was absolutely wonderful and the bed was 'heavenly'!

New hotel with modern amenities. Great HD flat panel TV. Bathroom mirror has really cool lighting and the double shower heads make for a great shower. The bed was also very comfortable.

A Mazing.
This is a beautiful hotel and unlike some hotels that just dress up the lobby and lounge, the rooms are just as nice. This is a perfect hotel for either a business or leisure stay. Only a few blocks from the metro-dome and city center. Mall of America and the Minneapolis Zoo are only a short drive also.

Terrific Hotel
Far exceeded my expectations. We traveled with a 3 year old and the room/hotel was suprisingly accomodating for him as well. Only blocks from the light rail and easy to find. The construction downtown made it a little difficult but other hotels were worse and we would have paid a higher price for them.

Perfect for a business trip
I stayed at the Westin for just one night during a business trip. The room was very nice (except for the non-existing view). The room service was outstanding - who thought you would get an outstanding steak via hotel room service? Location in downtown Minneapolis was perfect.

Couldn't ask for a better hotel stay
Went with friends to a concert in Minneapolis and found a great deal at the Westin to stay the night. Location was easy to get to. Valet parking was nice to have. From the people working at the front desk to the waitress in the lounge, we found the staff professional and friendly. Our room was very nice and the bed slept great. Really can't say anything negative about the stay. We definately will stay there again. Even without a deal on a special room rate.
