Rooms
Over 2,000 non-smoking rooms and suites across four towers offer a deluxe variety of accommodations at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino. Standard rooms in the luxurious Rush Tower are a generous 439 square feet and feature iPod docking stations, 42" plasma screens, DVD players, pillow-top beds and down comforters, and bathrooms with twin decolav sinks, a lighted makeup mirror and waterfall showerheads. The Nugget's spacious Carson Tower rooms are more formally styled, with marble lined bathrooms and pillow-top beds. More classic standard rooms in the Gold Tower include pillow-top beds and 42" plasma TVs, while Gold Club Rooms on the 16th and 17th floors offer more modern styling and concierge-level amenities. Suites in the Spa Tower, most of which are two-level, come with a wet bar, living and dining areas, large bathrooms with two-person spa tubs and dramatic views. No matter the tower, most rooms offer a variety of views that include the Vegas Strip, Spring Mountains and/or the pool deck.
Features

Daredevils love the Golden Nugget's three-story waterslide for more than just the drop – the slide also plunges through the immense shark tank by way of a secure tube. Also on the third floor of The Tank, the secluded Hideout pool deck offers an adults-only scene with an infinity pool and the H20 Bar. Back inside, the 45,000 square-foot-casino draws gamers to its popular slot and video poker machines, table games, race and sports book and poker room. The Golden Nugget also offers select retail (including a jewelry shop and high-end boutique apparel), an arcade and a golf concierge. Cabanas and daybeds at both the Golden Nugget and Hideout pools are available for a fee. Free self- and valet parking is available.

Dining
As with most luxury Vegas resorts, dining options at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino range from seafood at Chart House with its 75,000 gallon tropical fish aquarium, Vic & Anthony's for steak, Red Sushi, Grotto Italian, Lillie's Asian Cuisine and The Grille. Start the day with coffee at Starbucks or breakfast at the Buffet or Carson Street Cafe. Beer aficionados appreciate the big selection of 40 different brews at the casino's International Beer Bar.

VERY DISAPPOINTING VISIT

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 10-20 years. I was disappointed with my recent stay. I felt like I was charged for everything Those things included: use of a fitness facility, having complimentary coffee or tea in the room, a daily newspaper, internet usage. The coke machine on the floor charged $250 for a coke. It was not until I inserted $1 that I would have to add another $1.50 for the coke. I could not change my mind and get my dollar back. I probably will not stay here again.

Nice surprise

I was attending some training for my union that was being held at the hotel. I have been to Las Vegas several times before, but had stayed at some of the strip hotels. I had not been overly impressed with the Freemont Street area as a whole, but I wanted to stay were the training was being held. I was very pleasantly surprised with the Golden Nugget. The room was very neat and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. While the bathroom did not have the most modern plumbing fixtures, everything worked just fine, with plenty of hot water. On the evening that I had some free time, it was no problem walking a coule of blocks, and taking the duce (a double decker bus), which for two dollars, took me from Freemont Street to anywhere I wanted on the strip...and back again. The new pool was fantastic! Swimming with a shark at eye level is certainly a unique experience. The buffet, while not the most lavish in Las Vegas, was an excellent value with a very impressive selection. The only negative experience was that the ballroom where our training sessions were held were adjacent to the casino. It was the first time I've ever attended training where we had to close the doors because the noise of the slot machines made it hard to hear the trainer! Overall excellent value...why pay the strip prices when you don't have to?

Improved Pool Area

The Golden Nugget's new pool is amazing and very relaxing. I spent two morning's out at the pool and there was plenty of room to set up both in the sun and the shade. The shark tank is great, gives an individual the opportunity to be face to face with sharks and other fish. The best part was the slide through the shark tank. It was fun and amazing to see.

Great getaway

The Golden Nugget was quite comfortable. Had all the necessities, rooms, pools, restaurant and casino...etc. walk out one door and you are on freemont street with many other casinos and restraurants to visit. The staff was very friendly. I liked being in the old part of Las Vegas (downtown) Only minutes away from the strip, but was way to crowded for me.

great looking hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel considering that it is on the strip. Accommodations are nice, lots of places to eat and a beautiful pool/outdoor gambling, etc. The valets were wonderful as we had a 96 year old with us this time. They were very courteous and helpful.

Never Stay there again!

Went to eat at the buffet for dinner and the food tasted like cardboard and was dried out and stale. At $21 a person I expected better and fresher qualtiy food. They were doing construction outside the hotel and had equipment going all night that kept us awake. Beds were a bit lumpy. Rooms looked nice otherwise. We paid for intenet connection and it didn't work. They eventually had to send a tech to room to get it working, but that was 8 hours later then when we needed it. This was a businees trip and I will stay at another hotel next time. Only nice thing was the bell hops. They were friendly and helpful.

Went to watch the night light show on the strip just outside the hotel doors and it was nice. They also had live music playing on friday night. It was one of the only bright spots in this business trip.
