Downtown Vegas gem offers Chart House, Tank pool and shark aquarium
With the addition of the impressive Rush Tower, the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino has reconfirmed its place as downtown Las Vegas' most luxurious resort. - The Golden Nugget's three towers have 2,345 beautifully decorated accommodations composed of richly furnished guest rooms and suites. - The ballrooms and meeting rooms at the Golden Nugget are exquisitely appointed, featuring chandeliers and Victorian decor. With 12 rooms totaling 25,000 square feet (35,000 square feet October 15 through March 15) and rooms ranging in size from 510 to 6,400 square feet, the convention area can easily accommodate everything from a private executive summit for 5 to a gala of 350. Two of the 12 meeting rooms overlook the tropical pool area. Seasonally, October 15 through March 15, a 10,000 square foot Pavilion is added to the mix. The Pavilion is ideal for meetings, concerts, receptions and banquets for up to 500 people.

Fabulous hotel
This hotel is magnificently updated. It is absolutely fabulous and fastidiously clean. The staff from the valet to the front door to the front desk to housekeeping is outstanding. Downtown is a lively place to be and is very short trip to the Strip.

The hotel is right in the heart if downtown. You can hit 4 Casinos in 10 minutes. The pool area is super fun with the live shark tank and water slide going right through the tank. The rooms were clean. A little loud at times. Overall we had a great time.

Duke the wheathead
Worst customer service I've ever experienced
Over the 4 days we stayed, I very seriously comtemplated buying new plane tickets just to get home. When we checked in we left a CC on file and was told nothing would be charged to it unless authorized by us. We wake up the next morning to find $400 removed from our account, we then had to take the first morning of our vacation to deal with the bank at home and the Golden Nugget manager, who never once would talk to us face-to-face. So we then move on with our vacation and book a day bed for the pool, which $100 nonrefundable if we decided not to do it, which again we understood. Come the day of our daybed the wind is blowing and cannot use it, we understand that we are from Kansas wind is an everyday thing. Where we had the problem is the refund for our $100, they would not release our money and yesterday, may 27 we finally received our $100. We finally did talk to a manager during this incident, but again we had to waste a full morning on our vacation again. Me nor my family will never stay at the Golden Nugget again.

Golden Nugget - a real jem!
I usually stay on the strip - most recently at the Wynn. I enjoy Fremont/ downtown area so decided to stay here. It's really nice and has all of the similar amenities, just on a much smaller scale. The casino is more personal and just has a bit more of the homely touch. The pool is amazing and they have a shark tank!

Reasonable place to stay
Overall, if you like downtown Vegas, this is a nice hotel. Room was clean. Hotel was nice. Bathroom handles in our room were mismatched to its function. Staff was not particularly helpful, mainly at checkin. Good news was we did not need them.
