The New York New York Hotel Las Vegas was opened in 1997, at a time when Las Vegas enjoyed a spate of newly-designed themed hotels. The resort is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International, and a stay at the New York New York really is uncannily like taking a leisurely stroll through the Big Apple itself. Gaze up at the magnificent Statue of Liberty replica overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, ride the Big Apple Coaster (reminiscent of Coney Island's heyday) or dine at Nathan's Famous Hot Dog. Evening entertainment is provided by the internationally-renowned Cirque du Soleil in their sensual show Zumanity; why not enjoy a fruity pre-show Manhattan cocktail at the Bar at Times Square beforehand? Get into the real spirit of Vegas at the 1,500 slots and 67 gaming tables within the 84,000-square-foot casino.

The NY-NY, as it's known locally, is situated just north of McCarran Airport and the famous 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' road sign. First time stay in Vegas

So, this was our first time in Vegas. We had plenty of recommendations from friends but decided to go our own way and stay at New York, New York. Staff was friendly as well as the dealers. The room was average and had some plumbing issues in the shower as the water would not drain. The décor and nostalgia were excellent. The pool was very clean and had a good atmosphere. This was great for a first time stay but would prefer next time to be in a more centered location on the strip.

First Timers on a Budget

It was time to take my Son and Son in laws o Vegas for a guys get away. We booked online got the cheap flights on SPIRIT (Never Again) Once we arrived we were greeted promptly and our rooms were ready at 12:30 early check in is a plus. I would recommend going to the onsite bars early to get your hand stamped then you don't have to pay cover later on in the evening. All the food was good, Burgers at New York,or Steak and Eggs at the American 4 in the morning. Rooms were adequate, (not like once of the super Hotels) but great on a budget. Piano Bar is a must.

Hotel Stay was Okay

The location and value of New York New York were good. However, the amenities were not the greatest. We were not informed of a resort fee until our arrival at the hotel for check-in. On top of that, the Internet (which is included in the resort) was very slow. When I mentioned it to the front desk staff, they quickly highlighted that the Internet is not the only thing included in the resort fee.

Great Family Hotel

Great Place to stay in Vegas with kids. Room only cost $55 for 400sq, 2 queens and a great view facing the strip. They also upgrade our room for no charge. Room and bathroom were very clean & spacious. Also great deco, extensive TV channels and the bed, sheets & pillows were the nicest I've ever slept in. Seriously!! Requested a late check out for no charge and was able to stay at pool the entire day after check out. Pool was great for adults and children. Great music!!! Chin Chin for breakfast buffet was inexpensive $14.95 and very good. Children's price was only $5.95. What a deal!!! Lots of variety and unique choices, loved the croissant and salmon with hollandaise sauce. We didn't want to leave. Will be returning here soon.

first time, won't be the last

The friendliness of the staff is what really stands out for me. I loved that the food choices were centrally located as well as good variety. Easy access to the deuce bus and the CVS. The pool might be small for those who are planning on spending a lot of down time however everything else was amazing. Crazy fast elevator (perhaps trying to keep up with the roller coaster :) great entertainment on site, nice rooms, and good eats. It will be my hotel of choice for my next trip hands down!

Inexpensive, fun hotel

Been to Vegas three times and really enjoyed the look of the hotel. Stayed three nights and really enjoyed it. The roller coaster is a bit close to some rooms and can keep you up, but overall a really near place.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Take a taxi to and from the airport instead of a shuttle. Then you don't have to stop at a bunch of other hotels. You can leave later for departure and not spend so much time at the airport.
