My review of Planet Hollywood Resort Casino

Like the hotel location, quite central. However, while our room was one of the up-graded ones, it was very noisy. I called hotel maintenance, they never showed up to check what the problem was. The carpet in the hallway was dirty. I'd recommend this hotel.

Planet Hollywood great location

The new Planet Hollywood decor was interesting and modern. The casino is moderate in size and easy to navigate with wonderful perks for gamblers using their card. The breakfast buffet is outstanding in comparison to several others we have tried. The view of the Bellagio and fountains and the Paris and tower are spectacular. You can be at The Mirage or Flamingo with a short walk and New York, New York is less than 2 blocks away. The staff was friendly and accomodating, we were impressed.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There are many fine restaurants at the Bellagio and Caesar's Palace that are a short walk. Many are those with star awards and limited locations. So many from which to choose. Also Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville and the Harley Davidson restaurant to name a very few are close by.

average experience

The location of this hotel is excellent. Recently renovated lobby and casino are beautiful and staff friendly and helpful. Rooms, however, leave to be desired. Would like rooms to be updates as well. I stayed in a resort room, and while clean, the decor is dated and slightly worn.

Very disappointed!!

We checked in at the front desk early and were upgraded to a room that faced the bellagio fountains. We expected the room to have a huge window that faced them but instead it had a tiny window that you had to bend down to look out of. The room was fairly clean besides some dirt on the wall and stains. I guess because it is all wallpaper it was hard to clean. The furniture looked like it had been there for quite a long time because it was all scratched. When we went down to the casino floor we found it to be very maze like. We were there for two nights and it felt like we could never find our way. Most casino floors that you go to on the strip are very easy to find your way around. We did dine there at P.F. changs, the buffet and a sandwich place which were all extremely good food. The two things that annoyed me the most about this hotel was the way employees selling timeshares harrassed us. It felt like everytime we turned around they were at us. The other was the valet parking. One day we waited 25 minutes for our car which was crazy. It wasnt even all that busy.Overall I found it to be overpricced for what you got. We loved the location but hated the hotel.

Employees Not Helpful

Those in the position to help, were unwilling to help. Those who would be considered underlings were eager to assist, but were not in the position to provide help. Customer Service is key in the hotel industry. Management may want to enroll themselves in a few courses.

everything was very expensive, not special

The room was large, very good beds. There was no place to grab a quick cup of coffee in the morning. I had to track down housekeeping to get a roo service menu. The staff was friendly, but long waits for check in and anny questions. Every place we went in the hotel there was a staff member trying to get you to listen to their pitch for tomeshares. Not much attentionpaid to cleanliness. I would not stay ther again. Very pricey and not worth it!

The bus runs about every 10 minutes. $5.00 will get you a 24 hour pass and take you all over the strip as well as downtown.

My review of Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino (formerly the Aladdin)

The Plant Hollywood was comfortable, the room was a good size for two people. The bathroom was good and plenty big for two people. The location on the strip is very good it is in the middle of the everything and you can walk or catch the bus in front of the hotel. The mall that is part of the Plant Hollywood was good because it offered over 15 different types of eating out options. You did not have to just eat at the hotel. The thing that was most distracting was the whole experience of going out of the room. You could not go anywhere without being attacked by solications for time shares. The minute you walked off the elevator or walked out of the hotel it was on every few feet you were approached and just saying NO THANK YOU did not stop them. I will not go back for this reason. I go on vacation to get away from that not have to deal with it on vacation.

fairly boring

We were very excited to stay at Planet Hollywood. Yet there wasn't any really good shows or entertainment within the hotel. The service at the restaurants inside was HORRIBLE!!! You will have to wait at least 20 mins. for a drink. The walls are very thin we could hear everything our neighbors were saying. Overall, I just was pretty dissatisfied with the hotel.

A new hotel that's not yet ready for guests!

With the exception of our room...which was fairly spacious as hotel rooms go (as well as clean and comfortable)...the rest of the hotel was a mess. It was also very noisy, with consruction everywhere we turned. It features a Starbucks coffee shop that's way too small to handle the volume of people staying there (and doesn't accept the Starbucks card!). The one good restaurant (by reputation) had scuffed walls and woodwork and was dirty. Food choices in the hotel were, in fact, minimal to say the least. The piped-in music that permeates every location, including restaurants and casino, was terrible...and I mean TERRIBLE...especially compared to the background music in the other hotels. The one saving grace of our disappointing stay at this schizophrenic hotel was its location. It's right across the street from the beautiful Bellagio and within walking distance of the Monte Carlo, Caeser's Palace and other top-tier places. Othewise...I'd suggest you wait til Planet Hollywood gets its act together.
