A Worn Out Broken Down Amusement Park

Sam's Town is very "ya get what ya pay for." This place is basically a Wild West-themed dump complete with smoke (though not gunsmoke). The surly front desk staff challenged me twice as to why I wouldn't settle for a smoking room. Because your hotel is practically empty and you have non-smoking rooms everywhere, okay? After I insisted, they told me to come back in half an hour. Then they suddenly had one. Why not have the desk clerks wear black cowboy hats? That's how you could tell the bad guys in old westerns. There was a clump of hair hanging from the overhead lampshade in our room -- very Texas Chainsaw Massacre -- and their were dirty cups, glasses, and old newspapers in the public areas. The only positive was the very cool mechanical wolf that came out and howled during the free (but lame) laser show. The dancing fountains during this looked more like a plumbing problem than something magical. McDonald's (on the premises) was even bad. The food tasted old, and the ice tea was warm and thick. Ew.

Not good

After 1 day internet service failed, they could not get it back. By noon the next day when it still wasn't back I had to leave to get some work done. The internet provider was unreachable even when hotel staff tried. I demand a refund for 5 days.

Don't Do It

Cheap Tickets did not forward the reservation until several days after my arrival. No coffee maker and no mini fridge in the room. Temperature controls did not work and the room was very cold.

Like Sleeping On Rocks

Nice looking and cheap. Casino smelled too much like smoke. BEDS WERE HARD AS ROCKS. I woke up so sore!!! Also, housekeeping entered our room twice while the DO NOT DISTURB sign was on the door. They also threw away some information that I needed. They had no right to enter the room or decide what to throw away.
