Did the job, with one small complaint.
Accomodations were more than adequate for the purpose of the trip; the staff was polite and helpful. Only small complaint was a slightly faulty heat/AC system. When heat was set at normal, it was too warm. When we turned it to low, there was no heat at all and the room became too cold for comfort. There was no happy medium. If this had been more than a one-night stay, we would have complained. (room 212)

Must try Bistro 223 up the road less than a mile on West Water Street. NYC quality for Elmira price. Small but mighty menu, with Mediterranean & Indian influences.

Really a wonderful place. I'd return. The mattress and pillows were wonderful...would like them at home!! Very nice indoor pool. The resturandt provided a super breakfast at a most reasonable price. Nice location.

BARB'S CAFE on College Ave. Just go down Water street, maybe 4-5 blocks after the hotel, turn right onto College and Barb's is about 3 blocks up on the left. Cute little spot with wonderful homemade soup! Open daily 10:30-3:30

HI Elmira
Nice hotel for Elmira area. Very friendly staff, food and bar just ok but convenient. Good location. Nice indoor pool. Room was clean, newly renovated and comfortable for the price.

Hotel prices are too high
The fitness center has not been taken care of and in very bad condition, mattress gave me a back ache, toilet was in very bad condition, carpets were not clean. For the price this location is way out of line.

Hotel is under construction for upgrades
The parking lot was under construction, so parking was very limited on my first night there. I had a hard time finding a parking place.

Elmira, NY Holiday Inn
We were vacationing and visiting our children and grand-children. Our stay was very pleasant at the Holiday Inn-Riverview in Elmira, NY. There was only one downside to our stay. On the day we checked out, my wife and I ate breakfast at the restaurant in the Holiday Inn. Only after we had placed our order for breakfast did we find out that we could have got a discount on our breakfast if we had a "discount coupon", because we were guests at the motel. We were never told by the motel personell about needing a discount coupon on our meals. Maybe this is something that future guests should be informed about.

Only OK
Small-ish, somewhat dingy hotel in small-ish dingy town. Friendly/helpful staff at front desk. If you absolutely MUST stay in Elmira, this hotel is probably the best choice.

Our Stay Was.....
we stayed from 10/08 - 10/12 2009. Everything was wonderful. Until someone called the cops on my friend and I. On 10-16-2009 there was a wedding being held at the hotel. some of the wedding party was being loud. my friend and I end up being blamed for it. so we decided to leave that night and come back in the morning so no more mistaking ID would happen. Besides that, we had a great time.
