Dirty carpet

The front desk staff was Excellent. The hotel fecilities are poor. The carpet was dirty . You should pay 50% back. We stayed in Marriot at DC and the rate was much lower and it was Excellent!

No way

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Dirty, dark, and my wife and I were covered with bug bites the next day. They have to start completely from scratch, complete renovation, fumigation, etc. Much better to stay anywhere else.

Appalling at any price!

DO NOT STAY HERE! They charge luxury prices for a flea-bag experience! I was in town to bury my father. Let me list the problems: 1. refrigerator that did not work unless you turned on an unmarked switch across the room and even then the temperature was marginal 2. dead bugs in both beds 3. refusal by staff to remove dirty dishes, claiming they were not allowed to remove them until we checked out. 4. did not clean the tub or the sink unless asked 5. cold food at the hot breakfast, cold enough for health and safety concerns 6. stopped up drain 7. TV controller broken, sound on TV intermittent The director of housekeeping, a very nice woman, did finally meet with us everyday of our 1 week stay there and personally made sure our room was done to at least minimum specifications. The facility was dark, dirty and understaffed with undertrained individuals. I received a one day discount for my troubles...no where near enough.

Thanksgiving Stay

My family was just spending the night during the Thanksgiving Holiday. We chose this hotel as it was close and they accommodated pets. We checked it w/a late arrival. The person at the desk barely greeted us, gave us no info about the hotel, etc. He just told us to drive around back to the proper entrance. The hotel smelled a little funky, however, our room was clean. However, it was ice cold in our room. When we got into bed, there was just one very thin blanket on the bed. As we were tired and cold, we did not bother to call for anything as we didn't want to get out of bed! I would never consider this an upscale hotel.

Do NOT stay here.

The hotel is old and needs an overhaul VERY badly. It had that musty smell of mold and mildew. The business center had a very old computer that would not access my email account because it was so slow. The parking lot (which is not usually an issue) looked like it had been bombed. It had very large and very deep potholes everywhere. The breakfast buffett was pretty good, but free only during the week. The cancellation policy (72 hours) is crazy. The room was not bad. The bed was comforatble and the shower pretty good and I really like the full width vanity in the bathroom. But, I was definitely concerned about bed bugs (I did not find any). Overall I will never stay there again.

Clarion Hotel

The Clarion had a convenient location for us. The mattress was very comfortable, there was plenty of hot water and clean towels. The decor was dated, but the room was clean and the staff was very friendly.

Couldn't wait to Leave

Not full service upscale. No full service restaurant. Indoor pool hasn't been usable for months. Says free buffet but only Mon-Fri. Van advertised Ramada inn so missed van. Do not go out of way to please guest. 2 min van drive to Movies and wouldn't drive us, not close enough to walk up hill. Building look industrial. Lobby smells old and musty. Wall paper coming down. Next rooms shower water backing up into my tub. Very Very disappointed for Choice Hotel Brand. Parking lot very bad shape and halls spooky and very dark. No On demand Movies. Will never return to this Hotel.

Hotel fine, internet booking policy ugh!

Despite request for nonsmoking room, at check-in Sunday afternoon I was assigned a smoking room in a smoking corridor. Agent at desk denied the room was designated smoking, despite sticker on door and reek of smoke! Hotel was nearly empty when I checked in (almost empty parking lot) and a nonsmoking room was substituted at my request. However, the desk agent told me that because I used the internet/an agency to book the room I was automatically assigned the least desirable smoking room! Apparently they resent folk not using their own website to book in. Agent at desk next morning was much more pleasant and helpful.

Not a bad hotel

I was a little concerned as I pulled up to the hotel. It looks as though it is going out of business. The hotel is a white facade with not a whole lot else. As I walked through the lobby,I thought that maybe this would be OK. The staff were very friendly. The room was clean, the bathroom needed some updating. All in all it was an OK stay. I probably wouldn't stay there if there was something else available for the approximate price. The parking lot had craters and hard to maneuver around.
