Viva! Mexican restaurant at the head of the Commons is one of my all time favorite Mexican restaurants and a great value.

Depends on Room Number
The location is great and shuttle services for Ithaca are top notch; however how nice your room is depends on if you are in the tower or the back "motel" section. And just becuase you request/book the tower, doesn't mean to you gaurenteed to get it.

Good stay near Cornell
The holiday inn downtown is a great place to stay in Ithaca, especially if you are visiting Cornell. You can walk to restaurants and take a complimentary shuttle from the hotel to campus to avoid the hassle and expense of parking there. Staff was friendly and professional. Pool was nice, though the fitness room was tiny and had not a single free weight.

The amazing grocery store, Wegman's, is just a short drive away, with lots of prepared foods, salad bar, sushi, etc.

Visit to Cornell
If you're looking for a place to stay that is near the Cornell campus, this is the hotel to be. The staff are friendly, the rooms are large and spacious for the value, and it's in close proximity to the city center. The only thing that was a iffy was the extra charge they took out of my credit card to make up for any potential damages the room could have faced. Even though the amount is refunded after 3 - 5 days (according to the staff I spoke to) I would have liked some advanced warning before I saw that on my bill.

The hotel was just what we needed for our quick trip. It served us very well, the staff was very friendly and most helpful with all our questions. I would stay there again for sure.

Holiday Inn Ithaca
We arrived quite late - midnight - and had to create a space in the small parking lot. We were given the first floor HC room, although we'd called to confirm our late arrival, which is great if you need it but the roll-in shower allowed water all over our bathroom floor and need a good scrubbing. The carpet was disgusting, should be replaced or cleaned vigorously. One of the casement windows was broken and let in traffic sounds and cold. To top it off we paid premium price of 180 bucks - should have been $90. Breakfast was bright spot - cool interior design, welcoming and great food.
