December 2011 Weekend Getaway

This hotel is older and could use some upgrading. The Lobby is very inviting but once upstairs to where rooms are, the halls are narrow and need new carpet. The rooms are very small and the walls are very thin. Everything is at an additional cost. There was no coffee maker in our room so we had to go downstairs to the lobby and pay. The internet was additional in their business center, as well as checking our bags to be held until our departing flight. For the nightly price it cost more that if we would have stayed elsewhere with a more expensive nightly room charge.

Family holiday at end of 2011

Our stay was good eventhough its pricey. There was no free wifi even at the hotel lobby which was inconveniened. Location was the main factor in choosing this hotel. Getting around was easy as there was a subway station just around the building. All the main attractions of Times Square and Restuarants was within walking distance which was nice.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Go get the 7 day unlimited metro card as its expensive to travel since it is a flat USD 2.50 per trip if you plan to travel around Manhattan, Broklyn or Queens, etc

Nothing special

This hotel was located perfectly, it was clean and convenient. But I cannot think of a single reason why I would choose it again. In fact, I would probably try some other hotel. I found the staff especially unfriendly. When we asked how we could go to the Metlife Stadium, they said the cheapest way was to take their car service ($85). We took a cab instead for 50 bucks, and came back with train for 8 dollars! I understand they are trying to run a business, but lying should not be the way to go. If I want to summarize my experience with Park Central in one word, it would be blah.

Work week in NYC

After reading the reviews of this hotel, I was a bit skeptical of the property. However, I was pleased with what I received for a very reasonable rate for NYC standards. I got a clean room every night, met very courteous staff, and was in a very convenient location. I'm comfortable with the Subway and it is right nearby. I didn't use the restaurant, but liked the idea of the breakfast stand in the lobby in the morning. Seemed very reasonably priced. This is a good 3 star quality hotel, not luxurious. Room size was just right, and would have been for two (I was travelling alone). The only dislike for this hotel is one I have is with the entire industry on internet access. Charging $15/day is outrageous. For me on this trip, the cost would have been equivalent to what I pay at home for very high speed access. The industry needs to wake up and start providing this service as part of the package, just like they provide the flat panel TV and iPod enabled clock radio. This made my connectivity less convenient, since I then just had to do work on my phone, though I would rather have been on my laptop. However, this is a nice property. Just not designer.

Restaurant row is nearby and has great places. Also, 9th avenue is not too far away, with more great places at slightly lower prices. So, super location for meeting folks and entertaining.

Is not a fine choice.

Is quite comfortable and the location is really good. Somehow the service is just ordinary, amenities is kind of old. Compare with their cost, I will say is a fine hotel.

It was just okay

Check in was great and the front desk was extremely helpful and accommodating. However when we got to our room, there were no trash cans, the phone didn't work, and neither did the alarm clock. We used the second phone in the room but NO ONE PICKED UP. From concierge to room service to housekeeping. 3 hours later we were able to get through and get extra towels. Around 10:15 we got hungry and wanted to order food - but the kitchen was closed. There was no fridge in the room to get snacks and drinks had to be bought at the bar downstairs - nothing else was open. I was pretty disappointed. If you want a clean room, then this is a great spot - but I'm on the fence about whether or not I'll stay here again.

Clean, as advertised

I paid $98 for the room. I wasn't expecting the Four Seasons. But this isn't a 4 star hotel...3 at best. I complained about the wireless fee, they waived it. I was supposed to get a King, got a double 3rd floor. On the good side the room was clean, simple, comfortable AND the windows pen so if it is unbearably hot you can open window, which i did. Right off 7th Ave, easy to get Taxi

Service slow even for New York

The location is great, and price reasonable, but staff members hard to find when you need them. Waited fifteen minutes to check in and ten minutes before anyone showed up at the lobby coffee and muffins shop. Also the walls must be very thin. A next door neighbor talked on the phone late into the evening which caused me to try several methods to block him out. It was like an episode of "Seinfeld."
