Hated the hotel

The hotel room was tiny with very thin walls. No place to put my suit case and I could hear both our neighboring rooms the entire time. The heater didn't work which meant our room was freezing no matter how long it was turned on. Breakfast was expensive and by the time it got to my room was completely cold. Staff was sort of nice but not helpful at all. I hated every moment of it and would tell everyone to stay away. The price was way to expensive for what I got which was bad service, lumpy bed, thin walls so lack of sleep, and a freezing room during the winter.

Fell way short

I was told when making reservation that on the day of check out that I could leave bags with bell service, as I have don at every other hotel I have ever stayed with. Upon checking out my party was alerted that there was a charge of $3 per bag. I should have been alerted to this when making the reservation. The breakfast delivered to my room was disgusting. The attendant waited for a tip. I realized after gratuity was already on the bill. $60 plus dollars for 2 disgusting omlets outrageous. Upon checking in my party was given coupons for free drinks when purchasing a meal at the in house restoraunt. When we showed up for dinner and presented couons, the waitstaff told us they were coupons for buy1 get1 free drinks and we would need to purchase 2. When I read him what the coupon actually said he argued the fact with the rest of the staff watching, including a guy who looked to be a manager! Front desk staff included an older Indian gentleman who could not pull itself away from texting on his blackberry long enough to look at me once while checking out. The elevators were also messed up. Your business really fell short for me.

So Disappointed

What a disappointment this hotel was! The [...]representative told me on the phone this was a 4 star hotel...not even close. The room was very small, the air conditioning did not work properly, the lampshade was stained all over with yellow spots, the paint around the door and base boards were pealing and filthy. The beds were okay. ..after the first night I realized my sheet had an old blood stain on it. I really wanted to change hotels but realized I was locked in because of my package deal with [...]...it was not cheap by any means. I would never stay at this hotel again!

Park Central has gone downhill!

We have always enjoyed our stays at the Park Central, but our last visit was several years ago. It has changed..., for the worse. It is dirty. It has mold on the bathroom shower tiles and ceiling. The bedside wall lamp was barely attached to the wall. The hairdryer in the bathroom was not attached to the wall, but the holes on the wall where it had been attached were still visible. The shower faucet was loose. They did not supply the small bottles of shampoo and conditioner, but did leave two small bottles of lotion. The staff was below average. The location is good. I would not stay here again.

The good, the bad and the ugly

The hotel is in a great location, and that is the reason I chose it. Otherwise the hotel is simply pathetic: 1) Most of the elevators did not work when I arrived and they still did not work when I left 5 days later. 2) The hotel is poorly kept. 3) The hotel is not very clean. 4) The front desk staff is not very helpful. 5) The type of amenities vary form one room to another (coffee maker and others). 6) When I got to my room there were no hangers in the closet and I had to make 3 phone calls and wait 3 hours to hang my clothes. 7) It was raining every day and the doormen were not helpful in getting a taxi. 8) The kiosks to print a boarding pass did not work. 9) Totally over prized considering all of the above.

Most aggravating experience in years

This hotel was dreadful. Upon arrival we were amazed to see 2 uniformed doormen talking to each other, as we struggled to get our bags out of a taxi and onto the sidewalk. They glanced at us, and resumed their conversation. Elevator system completely inadequate. We were on the 8th floor, the only way we could get out of this place was taking an elevator going up (to ensure a place when it was going down), which entailed going up to the 25th floor, and stopping at every floor on the way down to meet the glare of fellow travelers who could not conceivably fit in. No amenities, not even coffee in the room. The final irritant was the morning of check out-we wanted to get some coffee, but did not want to invest 25 minutes getting out for coffee only to have to go up and down again to get our bags and check out. We brought our bags down with us, checked out, and went to request bag storage for 15 minutes while we got coffee. A charge of $3.75, per bag, to store the bags, "even for 5 minutes" as it was explained to us. It doesn't get any worse.

Horrible Service

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and when we tried calling the front desk to confirm there was no answer all 3 times. When we got there the price was $300 more then then what was on the paper sent out to us. We went down to talk to someone about this, who promised they would correct, and adjust it. When we checked out there was no correction made, and when I went to get the receipt from the lady at the counter, she yanked it from my hand telling me she was not giving it to me. When I asked to speak to manager, the two women were more concerned about some plane crash they heard about then taking care of us, and other customers. There was no plane crash, it just over shot the runway and everybody was all right, I checked. A 5 night stay cost, with parking was over $2000, which was supposed to be only $1600. My advise is spend the little bit more and book the Essex House, and be treated like royalty, instead of of an outdated, with deplorable conditions. Who wants to walk into a hotel room, with that kind of cost to find a roll away bed bed just inside your door, and hair in the sink and bathtub??? Avoid this hotel completely if you want a carefree visit to one of the greatest cities in North America!!!!
