Park Central New York

My boyfriend had booked this hotel for my birthday, and we were thoroughly excited to be paying $119; it was a steal for a hotel so close to Times Square. When we arrived at the hotel, we started to understand why it was so cheap. We couldn't check into our room at 2, and had to wait until 4. The line when we got there was long. The hotel's Bar and Restaurant had just recently closed for renovations, and there was absolutely no Room Service available. We couldn't even get a Wine Bottle Opener. The TV offered three movies, and the Staff was not very nice or timely. Overall I'd say lesson learned, and will be calling hotels to make sure that all there amenities are available if we are going to be paying to stay there, and I suggest you do the same.

The hotel was dark. My friend has colon cancer and this hotel was suppossed to have had washer/dryer but they were not working. The desk staff was very impolite (and I am a native New Yorker so I understand New Yorkers but they were truly unhelpful and impolite) and we were kep up all night bu screaming neighbors. Security was called on the neighbors but we could not get a room change.

We were initially placed on a floor with construction above and below us- I don't know what the receptionist was thinking. We got woken up to a horrendous melody of drills and hammers. The front desk staff was not empathetic at all, and very dryly switched us rooms, one lady actually tried to get me to go back up to my room so I could get my ID and prove I was who I was after I had already been checked in for a day. Ridiculous. The front desk staff needs a serious lesson in customer service and common sense. the good things... rooms were clean, beds comfortable and great location. I won't go back,. because there are too many hotels in NYC to return to a place that rubbed you the wrong way.

Great price and good size rooms but keep your expectations low in terms of services. It's under construction and will be for many months. Rooms were fine though.

Door lock was broken and when I was taking shower the color of water was brown that was so unpleasant. However, location was perfect so I could go anywhere without any difficulty.

NO AIR COND., TOO NOISY, TOO OLD, NOT A PLACE FOR BUSINESS NEITHER PLEASURE!

First the good: I got this room for a ridiculously good price ($109) - yes, I know, that should have been my first clue. I was expecting something, but not what I got. My room was enormous for NY (big for anywhere really). The staff were trying pretty hard to accommodate for the pandemonium caused by the construction. This hotel is in a fabulous location and, when the renovations are complete (assuming they are soup to nuts and a gut), it should be pretty great. The bad: The bar, restaurant, gift shop, business center, and primary elevators were all closed. (Okay, I can expect that for the rate). All travelers were going through the back/side entrance and the service elevators which require you to enter your room number before you get on (ok once you figure it out but generally added to the pandemonium). My room and floor were gross. Broken handle on the shower knob, mold in the grout, hair in the sink, broken outlets, peeling wallpaper, and the best: something on the spread that looked like, oh, I don't know, yogurt at one time? (We can only hope). The gym (still open, I was relieved to hear) - a dump. 3 out of 5 treadmills broken (for example). Yes, you get what you pay for. But I was STILL disappointed. At least change the 4-star rating until the renos are complete.

Hotel is undergoing renovations. Should wait until the reservations are done.

BED BUGS good location big rooms but bed bugs bed bugs

They switched rooms on us and we did not get a superior king. The business center and the restaurant were closed. One bank of elevators were not working. The cpncierge's 2 computers did not work and so he was useless for us. Overall it was a dismal stay.
