Park South Hotel

We took a LONG weekend to visit friends and just hang around NY. The location is perfect and easy to get anywhere from 28th and Lex. We were right in the middle of many many Indian restaurants and I would highly recommend Vultan - on 3rd and 29th. It looks really tacky from the outside with a big elephant. They serve a full dinner for $29 - it is so much food and delicious vegetarian Indian. However, I would NOT recommend Brasserie Halles at Park and 29th - that's the home base for Anthony Bourdain - bad service and terrible desert (which is all we had). If you are looking for places to eat around the hotel go down to 3rd and there will be plenty! Craftbar is close by as well and we did have a decent dinner there. Anyway, the Park South Hotel was affordable and quite nice. The room was very small which is to be expected in NY, but clean and the housekeeping service was always prompt. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was served until 11 am and was really great. The bagels and pastries were fresh, and there was a meat and cheese tray, and lots of other food. Plenty for breakfast and even lunch if you were trying to save money. We did not have dinner at the restaurant but we did have a glass of wine and appetizer and the shrimp and scallop cake was excellent.

Driving to the hotel, I was worried I wouldn't find parking and will have to pay a lot to park in a garage. When we got to the hotel, the parking was literally across the street and if you tell them your staying at the Park South Hotel, they will give you a discount voucher. The hotel was very nice, clean rooms and friendly staff. The only thing I didn't like was the maids started to clean rooms around us very early in the morning and every few minutes we heard doors slamming. It was very annoying when you're trying to sleep. Other than that, I would go back again. The hotel was very nice.

I was looking for a nice but relatively inexpensive hotel for my trip to NYC to visit my sister. She lives in Brooklyn but was going to come stay with me in Manhattan so we could sightsee and spend the whole weekend together. This hotel was perfect for us! It was very clean, the staff was friendly, and even the breakfast was good. The hotel is very close to the subway and the Gramercy/Murray Hill neighborhood is very conveniently located. I would recommend this hotel to others.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. From start to finish this was a really good experience. The staff is courteous, helpful and really knew the neighborhood. They were able to make recommendations of restaurants and give directions. The room was large by Manhattan standards and very clean. The bedsheets were crisp and comfortable and the amenities in the bathroom were very nice (soaps, etc). The shower water pressure was terrific. The only issue I would have if I were staying longer than one night is the storage space. The closet was tiny and there were only 3 small drawers. There was discounted parking right across the street and free wifi. The complimentary breakfast buffet was excellent. All in all a very nice stay and I will happily go back in future.

Good location for our needs. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were small but clean. All in all a good value for the cost.

We were really comfortable in the hotel, the room could have been more spacious but in NYC every sq meter counts... The shower was excellent, the room had no noise whatsoever, the breakfast was very good. The hotel is in a convenient location, and the front desk had a basket full of delicious Hershey's chocolates, the perfect ending to long walks in the cold winter!!! Will definitely go back and recommend it. The restaurant located in the hotel premises is also excellent.

Hotel was clean and nicely decorated located in a nice neighborhood in a good location. The bar/resturant at the hotel was great as well! Staff was friendly and helpful- would stay here again

My wife and I did a short get-away. We took an early bus from DC and by 11:30 am we were checked in. The location was perfect and pretty much walk around for two days. The hotel staff was very good and complimentary. The continental breakfast was very good.Definetly will stay again.

Perfect boutique hotel for a weekend stay in the city. It was close to everything... clean and worth the price. Def would stay again.

I placed the location level down but not for any good reason. Being a seasoned New York City traveler I understand that getting a cab is not difficult. However, there are some travelers that like to be within "walking distance" of the main attractions. If that is the case then yes, this location will not suit you. However, a simple $10.00 cab fare will get you to any of the attractions your looking for. The room, staff, lobby bar, wifi were exceptional and I have never experienced better in all my trips to NY. It will be a new staple for my business trips to the city.
