Great place to stay for Xmas visit.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Westin Columbus. Upon arrival, I joined the Starwood Preferred Program and got a free upgrade to a suite with a king bed, which was a nice way to start the stay. The room was very nice, and for the most part, pretty quiet (I could hear people walking by if they were talking, but that was to be expected). The only issues I had with the stay were that (1) I couldn't use the wi-fi on my phone (though I had no problem using it with my laptop#, #2# the fitness room was rather small with not a lot of machines to use, and #3# the parking was $20/overnight #and staying for 4 nights it added up#. However, I realize that this is a hotel located downtown, and downtown parking in any city is going to cost money if it's not included in the hotel fee #and, by signing up for the Starwood Preferred Program, I got a night free, so that was nice). Would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to others.

Good for business
The Hotel is good, even if the invest more in the lobby and in the common areas more then in the rooms ! Overall very good, but the room was a little small and 4 stars and up hotels should ALWAYS provide FREE WiFi connection and FREE breakfast. The exercise room was very very good !!!

Great hotel and concert spot
Classic historic, yet totally modernized hotel originally known as the Great Southern Hotel and Opera House. Spent the night and attended a concert in the adjacent restored opera house. Appreciated the direct entrance to the venue from the hotel, right there in the main lobby. Enjoyed the entire experience. Will do it again.

Entertainment tip:
In Hotel
Several pubs around the block and a nice bar with windows on the sidewalk in the hotel. No better place to stay if from out of town and attending an event at the Southern Theatre. It is right there!

Wonderful stay at the Westin
I booked the Westin Columbus to get away from it all during a four day break... And it had just what I needed. This building is not only gorgeous, but the rooms are classy, with a simple elegance. It was perfectly located near German Village, which was a short jog... Short North is a couple miles Down the road as well, a short drive. I ordered room service a couple times and the food was excellent; the mini bar was well stocked, and the prices were actually pretty reasonable. They have a wonderful fitness center, Thurbers Bar, and High Street Grill. Beautiful bathroom... It was the perfect retreat. My only beef, and this is why its not a 5 star review, is that there is not free WiFi... I was shocked, and a little disappointed. $10.00 per day for WiFi, which is nuts in this day and age; I think given what I paid for the room, as this is a high class place, WiFi should absolutely be included.

Clean, Comfortable
Small room, but plenty of space for a single traveler. Updated amenities, comfortable bed. In good weather, it's a 10 minute walk to a number of great downtown restaurants.

Long walk from hotel
It was a $5 cab to dinner, and I recommend it. It's not a bad walk, but there is one stretch that passes a series of bus stops, and that could pose a threat at nighttime.

Like sleeping in a closet
We have made the trek to Columbus for an overnight stay for the last four years to attend an event downtown. This is the second time we have stayed at this location. The first time the room was the typical business travelers room, no frills but the room was comfy and cozy. This time we were put in a room that was basically a walk in closet. There were two of us and we litterly couldn't move around the room at the same time. The shower had no tub instead a very small stall that allowed very little movement. I can imagine that anyone larger than average could get stuck! We may consider staying else where next time.
