Wonderfull experience
Beautiful hotel and view. If you call on the same day of arrival, you can have them take you to dinner in one of their antique cars. We had the use of a 1936 Cadillac which was great. We were celebrating our anniversary and they gave us a bottle of Champagne on the hose. Wonderful cocktail reception every day. As long as the weather is nice and not rainy, you'll really enjoy your stay.

Wonderful place to stay - a destination hotel
Can't believe this is a 3 star hotel - should be at least a 4, maybe a 5. The staff's responsiveness was over the top, breakfast was very good, wine and appetizers are served in the afternoon. My room was very large and well appointed. They provide a free shuttle service into town and back for dinner or whatever. And seeing a huge freighter ship glide by just outside your room/balcony is awesome! I loved staying here - they were fully booked during my 2 day visit, so make your reservations early!

A lovely place to stay
The location of this hotel is truly top notch: out into the Columbia River on a pier. The staff are wonderful, intelligent, and interesting. There are a pair of old sedans in which you can be taken to various local eateries and picked up for the price of a tip for the driver. This place is pet friendly on the first floor only which is just OK with me. We will come back here whenever we wish to overnight in Astoria.

There is one excellent restaurant in close walking distance. The remainder of the food faire is a short drive away or a longish walk. The walk along the waterfront is enjoyable even in drizzly weather.

best hotel I have ever stayed in.
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. IT IS A VERY INVITING CLEAN HOTEL AND THE ROOM WE HAD WAS HUGE. LOTS OF SPACE TO MOVE AROUND IN. THE VIEW WAS FABULOUS AND THE BED WAS SO SO COMFORTABLE. I SLEPT LIKE A BABY. THERE WAS NO NOISE OR DISTURBANCES AND THE HOTEL STAFF MADE OUR DINNER RESERVATIONS FOR US AT THE RESTAURANT THAT WE CHOSE. WE TOOK THEM UP ON THE COMPLIMENTARY CAR AND WERE ESCORTED TO THE RESTARUANT AND BACK TO THE HOTEL. I WILL STAY HERE AGAIN WHEN WE DECIDE TO COME THAT WAY AGAIN.

Anniversary Get Away
Sightseeing, dinner. ONe of the restaurants the hotel recommended was terrible. Would not recommend it to anyone (Tokyo Terriyaki). Terrible service. Food was below average. The second night (Silver Salmon) was great. Will stay here again.

The hotel reommended the Tokyo Terriyaki. Should remove it from the recommendation list. It was terrible (and I usually don't complain about food or service).

Wonderful hotel, great service, location
The staff is very nice, had menus of all the local restaurants so you could review before you left. Also had two older cars that would drive to and from the restaurants. They also had a wine and cheese reception from 5pm until 6pm, the wine selection was not very good, just a merlot and a chardonnay and a couple of cheeses but still enjoyable. The view was terrific, you're right on the river, plenty of windows and nice places to sit and enjoy. The room even had binoculars so you could look at the boats and wildlife. The room was decorated very nicely, with a lovely window seat and luxury linens. The bathroom had a shower as well as a footed tub. Breakfast in the morning was good and they have a nice deck to sit and enjoy it as well. On the second floor they also have lots of historical photographs and details about the history of Astoria and the fishing industry.
