Won't do this one again.
When we checked in the clerk was futzing with her computer, finally acknowledged us saying she'd be with us in a bit, continued futzing with her computer then...TOOK A PHONE CALL! Too busy to help us, but willingly looked all over for some other employee (who was parking cars) for the caller. Grrrr. The room was not as described. It was described as 465 sq ft with a couch. Neither was true. There was no book in the room describing hotel services or local attractions. The refrigerator sounded like a tank when it was on. We were seated at a table in the restaurant then promptly forgotten. All the diners around us seemed to be getting reasonable service, but we never did find out who our waiter was. We finally asked for coffee from another server, ordered from someone who was not dressed like the other servers, then left without getting our food when diners who had arrived after us were being served. All in all, a hugely disappointing experience for a Marriott.

good location bad ventilation
We chose this hotel for it's downtown location and economy price. The Bed was comfortable, unfortunately the room had a strong unpleasant new carpeting adhesive smell and the window did not open. No fan in the bathroom, and the fan in the room did nothing. We were also disappointed in the $30 overnight parking option, overpriced menu, and the lack of an in room coffee pot. Luckily we didn't spend much time in the room and wont be returning.

Short walk from hotel
park on the street- it's free after 7, or an outside parking lot 2 blocks away between 4th and 5th. Don't pay for hotel parking.

Very Convenient
Great Location! Should have mentioned that parking was valet only and quite expensive ($30 a day) Staff was helpful but unknowledgeable about local area eateries. Did not even suggest that we could get what we were looking for in their own establishment. Room had shower only no bath tub. Left card out to have room "made" but it never was. Took at least 15 minutes to get car from valet.

Courtyard Downtown Portland
Desk staff was helpful.Valets are rude and difficult.Restaurant in hotel is noisy and ugly.[...]Rooms sterile and dull though very clean.Neighborhood dicey at best - we were nearly assaulted when getting out of the car by a street person who became threatening. Definitely not recommended.

nice rooms but noisy airconditioners
I stay here because it is in a great location, rooms are clean and price is decent. The AC though is a little loud so it takes a little while to get to bed.

Awesome Downtown Portland Adventure!
Explored downtown Portland exercise amenities, shopping and socializing. Looked at relocation material and enjoyed the flavor of the community very much! The hotel was extremely gracious, clean and accomodating with an above average hotel work-out facility. Quiet. Great location within the down town area. Close to MAX light rail. 20 min. from airport.

Great Location
Great location walked everywhere and the employees are quick to call you a taxi if needed. But overall the hotel is nothing special but a comfortable place to sleep at night. It might be worth it to spend the extra money to stay somewhere a little more fancy in the downtown Portland area.

Great Location in Downtown Portland...but...
We arrived at the Courtyard on a Monday afternoon, check in and went to our rooms...I noticed a water bottle cap and some nuts on the floor by the bed, but figured those could potentially be missed by housekeeping, but then went to put my things in the bathroom and there was dirty water or a soft drink all over the floor...we called and got moved a few rooms down. Fast forward to getting back after dinner and I pull down the sheets to get in bed and there is a stain on the sheets. We call and they have someone come up and change it. Well he puts on the new fitted sheet and its dirty...so he pulls that off and notices that the mattress pad is soiled...so he goes and get another mattress pad which tears, then new sheets...so after four attempts we finally have sheets we can sleep on. I realize things like this can happen and I spoke with the manager to give feedback so other customers did not experience this, but it is still a let down. Positives of the place is the location is AWESOME, the lobby is nice, and if the housekeeping had paid more attention to detail the rooms would have been great.
