almost great. lacked finish
The staff was really great; friendly and accomodating. The location was close enough to downtown to make cab fair reasonable, but budget an extra $20 for the trip back from 6th. The decor of this "boutique" had a very ikea feel, in that everything felt a bit cheap and lacked finish. They could use better maintenace personell with more of an eye for detail. In summary, this place isn't worth the price of the niche it's trying to fit in.

Casulo
Room was small, but bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom had the biggest showed I've ever been in — one nozzle coming from the wall, the other from the ceiling. Fantastic.

Go to 219 West (the name of a bar, not the address) and get the chicken lettuce wraps. Best I've ever had — by far.

Very Comfortable
The beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever encountered at a hotel! The shower was great, too, with an exotic flare. The exercise room equipment all worked from the treadmill and elliptical to the weight machines - very unusual for a hotel! The one unusual thing about the hotel was the fit and finish of everything. The beautiful granite countertops in the bathroom were supported by painted plywood! They were sturdy but looked unusual. Also the valance over the window had a beautiful teak-looking woodwork that you could see through. Behind it was exposed wallboard, and our room had an exposed bent nail sticking out. Anyway, it wouldn't deter me from staying there on my next trip to Austin!

Not what I would describe as
The hotel & room were very clean. The hotel staff was very nice. However the bed was short (I'm 5'8")and very hard. It felt as though I was sleeping on the floor...too hard. The lighting was too dark in the bathroom, there was no fan to vent the bathroom during a shower. Coffee was good, bananas, bread, Eggo waffles and bagels along with eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and ceral were offered each day.It would have been nice to have more fresh fruit (melons, apples, oranges along with yogurt cups). Location was good. I won't be returning due to the very uncomfortable bed. Picures on their website made the hotel and room appear to be a lot nicer than it really was in reality.

Loved the shower!
The room was clean and comfortable, the bed firm and linens crisp. The shower was the featured item, and it offered a satisfying respite from the stresses of the outside world.

Great new boutique hotel!
The room was beautiful and it was 700 sq ft!! For the price we got for 3 days and 2 nights..it was awesome. The staff was super friendly, the bed was very comfy and the bathroom was very cool. Its a new hotel (1 yr old) so I'm sure they have a few kinks to work out as far as the structure is concerned. I gave it 4 stars because when we came in after a night of partying and requested more blankets, they gave us what felt like a cardboard blanket and told us that was all they could give us because housekeeping/linens dept was closed for the evening. I guess that's what we get for asking for it at 1:30 am in the morning? Other than that one incident, it was a pretty cool place to stay at.

Nice little place to relax
I wasn't expecting the hotel to be right next to the freeway, so my first impression upon driving up was so so. But the rooms are clean, bed is super comfy and the bathtub/shower is great for a romantic night. Good free breakfast in the morning.
