ebookers.ie hand over €10,000 cash to lucky winner

Most companies are trying to hold on to whatever money they have these days but Ireland's leading online travel agency, ebookers.ie, gave away a whopping €10,000 in cash to one very lucky person this afternoon.

Steven Rice, Ireland Manager, ebookers.ie handed over a cheque for €10,000 to school teacher, Freda Geraghty from Ballinasloe, the lucky winner of the ebookers.ie "Book & Win" campaign this afternoon.

Anybody who booked with ebookers.ie during the month of January, was automatically entered into a draw for €10,000 cash.

The competition applied to any booking made on ebookers.ie, no matter how big or small, be it for a flight, hotel, or car hire.

Freda and her husband, Bernard, travelled up from Doone Kilconnell, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway today (Wednesday 11th February) to collect a very large cheque from ebookers.ie. Freda took a day off from work to collect her lucky winnings. Freda and her husband Bernard met with Steven Rice, Ireland Manager of ebookers.ie, who presented Freda with the cheque for €10,000 cash.

On January 14th Freda made a booking on www.ebookers.ie to book flights and hotel accommodation for her son's wedding on Simon Island, Georgia, USA. Freda booked flights from Dublin to Savannah via Atlanta on www.ebookers.ie. Her son Brendan is getting married on August 8th this year. The whole family, including some neighbours, are traveling over to Georgia, USA in August.

When asked how she might spend the money, Bernard, Freda's husband piped up to say "he didn't know but that he certainly would have no influence!".

Freda is a teacher at Glenamaddy Community School in Glenamaddy, Co. Galway. Freda teaches leaving certificate students English and L.C.V.P. (Leaving Cert Vocational Program), and has never won anything before in her life.

Not content with rewarding those who booked with ebookers.ie in January, ebookers.ie have extended this cash campaign and are giving all those who book a hotel in February the chance to win €5,000 cash.
