Party in Paris

Paris may seem like an unlikely destination to celebrate St Patrick’s Day, but even in this café-strewn capital you won’t have to look far to find someone raising a pint to the Irish saint. Irish themed pubs are dotted around Paris and they provide a refreshingly relaxed and homelike alternative for locals, travellers and expats alike.  With frequent flights to Paris, visiting this city is a great way to enjoy the day – you can even find green Guinness!

Something a little different

If you fancy bucking the trend and having a drink-free St Patrick’s Day, there are also family and cultural events to celebrate the patron’s day.  You can head downtown for a St Patricks Day parade – a spectacle which is sure to delight any little ones.  Then in the evening Paris’s ‘Irish Cultural Centre’ has arranged a concert called ‘The Re-enchantment of Ireland’ which will have music and poetry.  If you look into car-hire in Paris, you could even take a trip to the beautiful and bourgeois Versailles.

Where to stay in Paris

Whether you want a hotel in Paris where you’ll be around other St Paddy revellers, or perhaps you’d like some peace and quiet, Ebookers have tried and tested hotels for you.

If you are travelling on a smaller budget the Modern Est Hotel comes recommended, but if you’re thinking of splashing the cash a bit then you may want to stay at the Emeraude Hotel Helios Opera or Hotel Corona Opera.
