A special atmosphere where you can unwind, relax, and feel right at home. Whether for a weekend getaway, a spontaneous trip, or a vacation, you’ve definitely come to the right place. “Mein Scheunchen” is a cozy little studio that’s part of a renovated 100-year-old quarrystone barn. It’s located in a small village between Aachen and the Vulkaneifel. The studio has its own entrance. Equipped with a kitchenette featuring a portable 2-burner ceramic cooktop, a small refrigerator, a coffee or Senseo machine, a kettle, and all necessary kitchen utensils, you can decide each day whether to prepare your own meals or dine at nearby restaurants. A cozy indoor seating area for two, a bathroom with a large shower, sink, and toilet, underfloor heating, a comfortable 1.60-meter-wide bed, as well as an internet radio and a TV, leave nothing to be desired. Upon arrangement, check-in and check-out are possible 24 hours a day.
Outside, in a romantic, overgrown courtyard with a garden gate, two wicker chairs with a wooden table and a parasol, as well as a bench, invite you to enjoy a leisurely breakfast and relax. There are also parking spaces for 2 bicycles available there.
Shopping and amenities are located about 1.2 km away in Walheim or Breinig (bakery, pharmacy, bike shop, grocery stores, ice cream shops, small shops), so you don’t have to bring your groceries from home. Explore the surrounding area by bike; take the Vennbahn Bike Path—just about 800 m away and 125 km long—to Aachen or to the various excursion destinations in the border triangle. (Lively Aachen with lovely restaurants and bars, cozy Kornelimünster along the Inde hiking trail, romantic Monschau with its half-timbered houses). Or hike along the nearby Eifelsteig (Stage 1 starting from Kornelimünster) and through the beautiful nature reserves in the border triangle (Belgium is only 8 km away) to explore the diverse natural landscape. Walk through hills and valleys, flower-filled meadows, forests, pastures with sheep, chickens, donkeys, and cows, along gently babbling streams. Here you can let your mind wander.
