Sitting in an elevated position with sweeping views across the wooded valley and hillside, the property combines clean, contemporary interiors with a warm and welcoming feel suited to groups of friends or larger family gatherings. With space for up to eight guests, it makes an outstanding base for exploring Waterfall Country, the Brecon Beacons, Zip World, and the wider South Wales landscape.

A private hot tub sits in the enclosed rear garden looking out toward the tree-covered hillside, a pool table dominates the living room alongside a working fireplace, and a Smart TV with Netflix ensures evenings are just as enjoyable as the days. This is a home designed for people who want to explore, play, eat well together, and properly unwind.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON HOT TUB:
The hot tub is not available on the first night of your stay, as we replenish the water and rebalance the chemicals between each booking, and it takes time to heat to the correct temperature. For this reason, the hot tub is not available for one-night stays. For longer stays, it will be ready for use from the following day.

A HOME TO RELAX AND UNWIND

The living room is the natural hub of the property — a generous, sociable space with large black leather sofas, a working fireplace, and a wall-mounted Smart TV. The pool table at the centre of the room can be configured as a table tennis table or converted into a six-seater dining table, making it equally suited to a games night, a shared dinner, or a relaxed evening in. Books and board games are also available.

Outside, the fully enclosed rear garden offers genuine privacy. The hot tub sits on its own raised decked platform looking directly out toward the wooded hillside, while the timber pergola shelters the outdoor sofa set and low table. The BBQ makes al fresco dining a natural part of any stay. If you are celebrating a special occasion and would like the property decorated before arrival, please get in touch in advance and this can be arranged.


THE LAYOUT

Ground floor: entrance hallway with light wood-effect flooring leading to the main living space, fully equipped kitchen, dedicated workspace, family bathroom, and direct access to the rear garden.

The kitchen features grey gloss cabinetry, brick-effect tiled splashback, and terracotta-style floor tiles. It includes an oven, hob, microwave, air fryer, toaster, kettle, fridge freezer, and a full set of cookware, crockery, and cutlery. Tea, coffee, and consumables are provided, and wine glasses are available.

The bathroom features a freestanding bath, full-height dark mosaic-style tiling, body soap, conditioner, heating, and fresh towels for all guests.

Bedrooms (upper floor):
• Bedroom 1: Two double beds, upholstered headboards, sage green and cream bedding
• Bedroom 2: Two single beds, grey upholstered headboards, fitted carpet, garden views
• Bedroom 3: Two double beds, dark upholstered headboard, green textured bedding
• Bedroom 4: Bunk bed, dark upholstered headboard, fitted wardrobe

All bedrooms have natural daylight. Extra pillows, blankets, clothing storage, and portable fans are provided. The property has smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit.


LOCATION

Brynhyfryd Cottage is set at the top of Cwmaman, a quiet village tucked into the Cynon Valley, surrounded by forested hillsides and open mountain landscape. The elevated position gives guests some of the finest views in the area and a genuine sense of escape, without being far from conveniences.

• Aberdare town centre — 5 minutes by car or 14 minutes by local bus (Stagecoach line 14, every 20-30 minutes). Supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, cafes, and Aberdare Park with boating lake and gardens.
• Waterfall Country / Four Waterfalls Walk (Ystradfellte) — 20 minutes by car. One of the best short hikes in South Wales.
• Pen y Fan / Storey Arms, Brecon Beacons — 25-30 minutes by car via the A4059 north.
• Zip World Tower, Rhigos — 15 minutes by car. Wales`s largest outdoor adventure attraction.
• Cardiff city centre — 35-40 minutes by car or around 1 hour by train from Aberdare station (Transport for Wales, hourly to Cardiff Central).

Three free on-site parking spaces are available at the front, with free on-street parking directly outside — no permit required.


HOUSE RULES

- Please ensure the correct number of guests is included in your booking, as pricing is based per guest. No parties, smoking, max 2 pets are allowed for an additional fee of £30 per pet.
- This is a residential home, please be respectful. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Excessive noise may result in booking cancellation.
- No shoes inside the property.
- Check-in and check-out times must be followed. Late check-in or check-out of up to 2 hours may be available for £40, subject to availability and confirmation after booking.
- A £200 security deposit is required before the check-in code is released via a secure third-party platform after booking confirmation. The deposit will be returned 3 days after checkout. Any damage to the property will be charged to the lead guest.


EXTRA CHARGES

• Early check-in (before 16:00): £40
• Late check-out (after 10:00): £40
• Pet fee: £30 per stay (one well-behaved pet, prior confirmation required)
• Cleaning fee: £60 per stay


BOOKING POLICY

Full payment is due 30 days before arrival and will be automatically charged to the card on file. If payment fails, it must be completed within 24 hours or the booking will be cancelled. Early payment is allowed; card fees up to 3 percent are non-refundable if cancelled.

A security deposit of £200 will be taken

CANCELLATION POLICY

Full refund if cancelled 30 or more days before arrival. Fifty percent refund if cancelled fourteen to thirty days before arrival. No refund if cancelled within fourteen days of arrival.
