If walking or cycling is your thing, then Abergavenny is the gateway to the mountains, including the nearby Sugarloaf, The Blorenge, with the famous ’The Tumble’ cycle hill climb, and the five hills, Ysgyryd Fach, Deri, Rholben, Ysgyryd Fawr and Mynyd Llanwenarth. The town is steeped in history, and a visit to Monmouth Castle and regimantal mudeum is recommended, along with the Monnow Bridge and Gate. Pop into Monmouth Museum or take a trip to Trellech where you can poartake in an archeology dig unearthing its ’lost city’.
