Home to two pubs, a cafe and a shop, the village sits beside the River Elwy and is a great holiday base for walkers. Embark on routes along the water’s edge and into the surrounding countryside, plus access the Wales Coast Path at Abergele, less than 5 miles north. Head further along the coast to explore Colwyn Bay, Conwy Town – a World Heritage Site with an imposing 13th-century castle, quaint harbour and fine selection of independent shops and restaurants – and the resort of Llandudno, famous for its Victorian pier and beach. In the opposite direction, Llanwrst – known as the ‘capital’ of the verdant Vale of Conwy – sits on the edge of the Eryri National Park. Alternatively, travel 9 miles east to St Asaph, home to the smallest cathedral in Britain.
After days spent discovering the natural beauty of North Wales, this semi-detached holiday home prioritises tranquil time as a twosome. Step through the main entrance hall and on your right, you’ll find the lovely open-plan living space, with traditional cottage styling that includes exposed beams and brickwork. Cook up a tasty meal in the contemporary kitchen, discuss what’s next on your to-do list as you dine, then settle down on the comfortable seating to catch up with your favourite TV programmes as natural light floods in through the leaded windows. When it’s time to sleep, amble across the hallway to the delightfully spacious double bedroom which, for ultimate convenience, benefits from an en-suite shower room.
For a breath of fresh country air and the scent of seasonal planting, enjoy time on your private gravelled patio, with dining furniture and additional rattan seating. You’ll also have use of the summer house in the owner's garden – a perfect spot to unwind in less-clement weather – plus a firepit and BBQ.
