Breathtaking Panoramic Alpine Views
Perched on the French-Swiss border, stunning mountain scenery greets you at the luxurious Chalet Etoile which is situated only 1km outside of the charming traditional French village of Abondance, with its historic abbey and delightful boulangerie, restaurants and cafes.
Chalet Etoile boasts a large, modern, fully equipped fitted kitchen with Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher and the essential raclette grill and fondue set.
The open plan lounge is fully equipped with TV, BluRay player and a large selection of films. It has large format leather sofas, a pellet fuelled burner perfect for cosy evenings apres ski or hike. Double height windows allow you to take in the idyllic mountain views.
Dine inside in the contemporary dining room or outside immersed in magnificent mountain vistas. All three areas open out onto the south facing balcony that runs the entire length of the chalet and has an outdoor cooking area with gas BBQ.
To the rear of the property is a large decked area with rattan seating perfect for alfresco breakfasts and the morning sun.
The master suite is on the ground floor and has balcony access and a full ensuite including bath and shower.
Two further contemporary alpine styled double bedrooms are found on the first floor along with the main bathroom complete with a second bath and shower and separate WC. A mezzanine level provides a further double sleeping space. All rooms are furnished with high quality duvets and bed linen.
For younger guests there is a separate games room with bunk beds and a Playstation 3 with a selections of games and there is free Wifi. In the basement there is boot room with boot warmer, ski rack, a washing machine and dryer. There is parking for up to 3 cars and a large garage.
The bus stop, directly outside this chalet, is convenient for holiday makers wanting to access the 3 different ski centres of Abondance, Chapelle d'Abondance or Chatel all within a few minutes. Chalet Etoile is a sumptuous Alpine base from which to explore the Portes du Soleil area. Whether skiing, mountain biking, hiking or simply relaxing, this unique spacious 4 bedroom chalet offers beautiful accommodation catering for all interests. There are 800km of hiking trails in the vicinity ranging from challenging climbing to snow shoeing and easy hill hikes. For skiers there are 170 kms of blue runs, 380 km of red runs and 100 km of black runs to suit all abilities. For cycling enthusiasts there are 650 km of marked cycling routes. Mountain bikers can enjoy 380km trails including 5 bike parks with 10 lifts. In the summer months there are 10 permanent downhill trails open.
Locally there is mini golf, tennis, Fantasticable zip wire, spa, rafting, horse riding, paragliding and Porsche ice driving.
Chalet Etoile is just 1 hour 20 mins from Geneva Airport. 2 minutes from local shops and 10 minutes by car from the large supermarkets in Vinzier and Chatel. Nearby is the Gorge Pont Diable, a natural gorge and place of beauty and the lakeside pretty towns of Evian les Bains and Yvoirre are just an easy drive away. There is a large sandy beach on the banks of Lake Geneva at Excenevex and for the more adventurous why not climb the Via Ferrata at la Chapelle d'Abondance or white water raft the river Dranse.
