Built C19890 by its namesake, Percival Herring, this stylishly refurbished character cottage ensures your stay comes with a story to tell.

Crafted by renown interior design aficionados Fabrikate, HH is an iconic South Australian experience many travel far and wide to enjoy.

Its recent renovation strikes a balance between playful and thoughtfully planned, decked out with opulent furnishings from the likes of Jardan, Ferm and the Jam Factory, making Herrings House a haven for lovers of finely curated interiors. You can thank the clever folks at revered design studio, Fabrikate for that!

Polished timber floors and large whimsical windows give your stay a bright, airy, and inviting vibe, while the raw, edgy kitchen serves up a feast for the eyes courtesy of its Ceasarstone concrete benchtops, artisan tiling and a wide garden view.

Want a holiday with more elbow room? No worries! With multiple living zones, well-sized bedrooms and a secret loft, Herring's House offers an adaptable floorplan to comfortably accommodate your family and friends.

Downstairs we have a super king room, queen room and small single room (which becomes our massage room for retreats). Upstairs in the 'secret loft' we have 3 singles. All up, Herrings House comfortably hosts 8 guests.

If you've got a green thumb or just appreciate farm-to-table fare, you'll enjoy the simple pleasures of the flourishing veggie patches and a coop with three very productive hens.

Not just a pretty face, the property also features a magnesium pool, sprawling gardens, nooks, crannies and a gully view. It's the kind of place that makes you forget about your phone, your emails, your deadlines... to remember.

Herring's House places you just a 10-minute drive from the unspoiled beauty of Port Willunga’s surf beach and a pause from the Willunga township, where quaint brunch spots start the day just right and the renowned Russell’s Pizza slings its piping hot works of art well into a Saturday night — the perfect end to a day of winery hopping through Mclaren Vale.

Willunga’s best kept secret? We think it is.

The entire cottage will be yours while you stay. Your privacy and seclusion is our priority.

There are a few considered design via our collaboration with renown designer Fabrikate selections we have made that we would like to bring to your attention. Herrings House has a number of one-off pieces including designer sofas, handmade ceramics and customs artworks. We ask that you enjoy these curated items and care for them like you would your own.

Herrings House is about reconnecting with self and loved ones. You may choose to spend your time hidden in the reading secret nook, collecting free range eggs from our girls or organic vegetables from our veggie patches, absorbed in our expansive collection of coffee table books. Alternatively, soak in our outdoor bath tub or warm up under the outdoor shower after a dip in our magnesium pool, snooze during the day, snuggle by the fire, or just be.

Willunga is known for its cool nights through Winter. To ensure your comfort an oversized our infoor combustion fireplace and split system air-conditioner maximises comfort on even the coldest nights.

- While you are our guest, our keys are your responsibility. Please note any costs for a locksmith call out will be passed on.
- You are so welcome to use Herring’s House for your photoshoots, however for business or other commercial use, a location fee will apply. Please reach out to us for further details prior to your stay.
- Food & drink is to be kept to the kitchen, dining table & deck, please NO food or drink on the beloved jardan sofa, beds or any other furniture
- No candles or smoking
- Please only use the wood fire & fire pit (between 15 April - 15 Nov) if you know how to operate, and please check fire ban information before lighting
- Malicious theft or damage will be reported to the police
- No parties or events, please be kind to our neighbours
- Please leave Herring’s House just as you found her when you arrived. HH is our families very own, much loved cottage.
- No parties or events.
- Small intimate gatherings on approval.
- No loud music that can be heard by neighbours at any time.
- Quiet hours from 9pm to 9am.
- Herrings House and surrounding homes are set in a beautiful peaceful area, please respect our lovely neighbours and at no time disturb their peace.

As a guest of this cottage, you'll find barbecue grills, a garden, and laundry facilities. The front desk is open around the clock.
