This recently renovated property was easily 4 star. In a “suburban” neighborhood where Cezanne grew up, was married and lived. It is near excellent restaurants and walkable to downtown. Staff knowledgeable and helpful.

I can't say enough good things about the hotel and staff. Location was perfect a few blocks from the city center so got the best of both worlds residential and city centrality, but the staff. Leeanna, Elisa, Satcha, and Alexander were all perfect and made the stay even more wonderful! From their recommendations to their assistanance with train bookings, handling luggage and everything else in between it was superb comparable to attention at five star hotels! So personal and perfect!

We stayed just one night and everything was perfect. The room was small but we did not mind that. Everything was very clean and the bed was large and comfortable. Our room opened onto an inner courtyard and was very quiet. We asked in advance about parking and were given good advice for secure, paid parking. The pedestrianised area of the old town is entered just across the street and there are lots of lovely places to eat, drink, shop and just have a wander. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Happy to recommend.

Visit Aix and Stay at Hotel Escaletto

The hotel is lovely and a perfect location. Quiet but very near the beautiful Cours Mirabeau- restaurants, shopping, cafes, markets. Escaletto is eco conscious and caring of its guests. A lovely rooftop terrace and blankets provided if needed. The breakfasts are plentiful and delicious and worth the price. Aix is a charming city worth visiting again and again and I would definitely come back to this hotel. Our room was cozy and had everything we needed, very clean and safe and Fabien and the rest of the staff are patient and helpful. The hotel is filled with wonderful art, much of it for sale. This was a great find

Overall this property was good. Location was convenient to the city center. The train station details were confusing. (Was told 10 minute walk) However If you come in on the TGV train, you will need a taxi for $30-50 euros and it’s 20 minutes by car. So not sure which station they mean is walkable but the high speed train station most definitely requires extra time and money.

This hotel was very convenient for visiting Aix-en-Provence. Rooms are simple with typical European setup, but AC works well and external blinds on windows keep room dark even in the summer when the days are long.
