Casa do Grego has glorious sea views and stands alone in an unspoilt area of outstanding natural beauty. It is set back from a cliff-top with uninterrupted views down to the Sao Rafael beaches overlooking fig and olive trees and many mature mimosas and umbrella pines. The Grego is a 5 bedroom converted 160 year old farmhouse but has been sympathetically modernised to retain many of its original features including its bread oven, cisterna and water catchment area. It is a family home with a well-equipped modern kitchen, TV, WiFi, DVD player, outside terraces, barbecue and a gated heated 9x4m swimming pool with gentle graduated steps. Casa do Grego is within easy walking distance of the beaches of Sao Rafael with impressive beach cafes, the new prize-winning marina of Albufeira and many excellent restaurants. Albufeira is located in the central Algarve and is close to several golf courses, a riding school, slide and splashes and Zoomarine - well worth a visit with or without children. The farmhouse is built along traditional lines with walls nearly 1 metre thick in places, mainly stone tiles on the floors and air vents through the roof in various places. The combination of these features and the regular on-shore sea breeze mean that it is rarely too hot. There is, however, a fan in each bedroom just in case the wind drops at night - a rare occurrence.

Not happy - to be home!

Beautiful home away from home with friends and family. 10 of us in total and none of us can find fault in Casa Do Grego. The house is well laid out, with a lovely outdoor area and pool, enough space for all of us and pretty much everything we needed to be self-sufficient for the week. Close enough to both the marina and some lovely beaches to walk, but cheap enough in an Uber if you’re not up to the hike up the hills. Great comms with both the owner and the agent too. All in all, we had a fantastic week and will no doubt be back in the future.

Great place for a large group!

We had a fantastic time as a family at this property. It's an old-style farmhouse building - so don't expect pristine condition. But, everything was clean/tidy, and the kitchen had all you needed to cook/BBQ. The house is up a reasonably steep hill so we would recommend a car if you have people in your group that struggle to walk. Be prepared to walk longer distances to reach places (30+ mins) or drive short journeys (5mins). Very close to Albufeira marina (down the hill) and in easy reach of Albufeira old town by car/longer walk. The pool was great! Overall excellent value for money.

Family holiday with an opportunity to catch up after Covid restrictions

The property provided a lovely base for our family to get together after such a long time. The villa had everything we needed and was ideal for young children. We had all our meals outside looking at the view and enjoyed spending time in the lovely pool which was safely behind a gated access point. We would recommend Caso do Greco to anyone.

Lovely well equipped villa, beautiful location

We stayed in this spacious villa with our children and grandchild. The annex was ideal for the couple with the baby. The kitchen is very well equipped. There are rooftop views of the beautiful local beaches which we walked to. The pool is great and the outdoor dining area is brilliant. A nice walk to the marina and lovely local seafood restaurant too. We would highly recommend this villa.

Wonderful Place to get relaxed with family or friends.

After an initial checkin problem, there was a quick property reaction and everything was solved as wished. Location perfect, Sao Raphael Beach 10 minutes walk, as well as the Marina. House in classic furniture style, has everything, big equiped kitchen (for 11 people), nice Grill at the pool, at night you can delight full stars sky view, no neighbours or annoying sounds. We didn't asked for Pool Heating and it was not neceessary because of weather in august. A nice breeze runs in the afternoons at the garden, so you feel very comfortable until night comes while having dinner.

Lovely traditional villa

Great villa in a lovely location. We loved being able to walk to the pretty local beach and to the marina as well. The villa had everything we needed and any issues were quickly dealt with by the local contact. We hope to back again!

Wonderful Family Holiday

I am so glad we chose to stay at Casa do Greco for our family holiday. A traditional farmhouse full of character, very well equipped and a great pool. Situated in the countryside with marvellous views. An easy walk to the beach, Marina, or Albufeira town but as the house was so lovely we were happy to spend most afternoons around the pool.

Superb location and an excellent place to stay!

Can't recommend this property too highly. Whilst close to Albufeira, it is still in a rural location with no immediate neighbours. The pool is a delight and well maintained. There are also several very attractive beaches within easy walking distance. The farmhouse itself is spacious and very well equipped .It is decorated in a attractive, traditional style and was a very comfortable place to live in. We had everything we could ask for at Caso Do Grego and were very sad to leave. Will be rebooking!

Nice vacation

The property is big and therefore enough space for a big family. It is an old farmhouse outside of Albufeira, so you shouldn't expect to have anything surrounding it but the nature. You also need to make sure that you have a car to go and visit the beaches. We enjoyed it very much and had a good time with the whole family

L’emplacement est trĂšs bien situĂ© (plages et routes), la maison est spacieuse et bien agencĂ©e, sans vis Ă  vis. Les chambres sont de belle taille et la cuisine est trĂšs bien Ă©quipĂ©e. Pauline, la manager a toujours Ă©tĂ© disponible au moindre soucis. Il y a cependant des points faibles que nous devons mentionner ; linge de lit usĂ© (dĂ©lavĂ© et abĂźmĂ©), oreillers trop fins, serviettes de toilette rĂȘches, trouĂ©es et sentant le renfermĂ©. Les transats de piscines sont anciens et mĂ©riteraient d’ĂȘtre changĂ©s (dĂ©formĂ©s, inconfortables, odeur de moisi). Nous avons dĂ» faire changer les parasols de piscine durant le sĂ©jour (un Ă©tait cassĂ© depuis le dĂ©but et l’autre Ă©tait en mauvais Ă©tat). Les chaises extĂ©rieures sont de mauvaise qualitĂ© et instables.Grosses tĂąches et usures sur les matelas de banc extĂ©rieur. Il a Ă©tĂ© trĂšs difficile de dormir, spĂ©cifiquement pour les enfants en bas Ăąge. Les chambres sont dotĂ©es de ventilateurs, qui eux aussi mĂ©riteraient d’ĂȘtre changĂ©s (bruyants, grinçants) et qui n’ont fait que brasser de l’air chaud. Il conviendrait d’équiper la maison au minimum avec des climatiseurs mobiles dans les chambres. L’eau de la piscine a Ă©tĂ© trouble durant toute la durĂ©e de notre sĂ©jour. EN CONCLUSION: La maison est agrĂ©able et sa situation gĂ©ographique est parfaite mais nous avons Ă©tĂ© déçus de la qualitĂ© du matĂ©riel sur place au regard du prix du sĂ©jour. Il n'est pourtant pas cher de procĂ©der Ă  ces simples ajustements, c'est dommage.

Wir hatten einen unvergesslichen Urlaub in diesem wunderschönen alten Bauernhaus. Die ruhige Lage mit Meerblick ließ uns fĂŒr 8 Tage in eine andere Welt eintauchen! Atemberaubende StrĂ€nde in unmittelbarer NĂ€he (zwischen 2 und 10 Autominuten). Wir waren jeden Tag an einem anderen Strand und der tolle Pool ließ uns die Zeit zu Hause genießen und war erfrischend! Einziger Kritikpunkt ist der muffige Geruch der KĂ€sten und Kommoden. Wir mussten unsere gesamten Kleider nach unserer RĂŒckkehr zu Hause waschen, um den Geruch loszuwerden.

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans cette villa trÚs bien située dans un quartier trÚs calme d'Albufeira avec une vue magnifique sur les falaises de Baleeira depuis la terrasse sur le toit. La maison est grande, parfaite pour notre groupe de 7 amis, trÚs bien équipée, absolument rien ne manque. La literie est de trÚs bonne qualité. L'extérieur est vaste, nous avons beaucoup apprécié la terrasse couverte pour les repas à l'abri du soleil et la grande piscine. Vraiment rien à redire, parfait.

A casa do grego esta muito bem situada com uma linda vista. Cozinha é espaçosa com 2 frigorificos. Terrassa grande, ideal para comer e tambem para as crianças brincarem. Tivemos tudo para as 2 criancas que viajavam conosco (cama de bébé e cadeirinhas). Se tiver de falar de um ponto negativo, sao as camas, em 2 quartas as camas faziam muito barulho mal agente se deitava la. E os colchoes tambem ja nao sao muitos novos. E quando esta muito calor, a casa esta muito quente, principalements os quartos virados para sul. Maa como conclusùo: passamos uma linda semana na casa do grego. :)

Ms Darvall is an incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive person. She helped us out a lot in a very unlucky insurance-situation and even had a birthday-cake organised for my grandma. We were so eager to go to Casa do Grego for my nan's birthday - until we couldn't, because Corona hit. We will try again as soon as this is all over and are looking forward to finallly meeting you and visiting your beautiful place. Thank you for all your help!
