Nice villa, terrible check in

Villa Gemini is a very pretty and private spot that could easily rate 5 stars, but it urgently needs improved guest responsiveness, check in communication, basic supplies, and house cleaning.We arrived at 4 pm tired, hungry, and anxious to enter the villa but the key fob was malfunctioning and would not open the gate. We called the management company’s customer care & international contact numbers, but no one answered. We emailed the owner, who did not offer a fix but said he’d “escalate” our problem. The mgt company eventually emailed (versus the more effective phone or VRBO app) but were of no help - they did not understand we were locked outside of the gate and property.Entirely by chance, a man tending adjacent land pulled up; neither the owner or mgt company contacted him to help us. 2 hours after check in time, we finally got through the gate thanks to this kind man, who also later got us a working gate fob. Without his chance arrival, we would have been stuck outside with no way to access the villa. Neither the owner nor mgt company contacted us to ensure we were able to enter the property, we updated them.The villa is lovely but suffers from poor cleaning: balls on women’s hair on the floor, bacteria growing in the fridge, dried food on dishes, etc. Lastly, being stingy with basic supplies is at odds with a higher-end villa. We were given 1 spong and 2 dishwasher tabs for our 4-night stay - no paper towels, laundry soap, garbage bags, etc.

Lovely private villa, close to everything you need!

Lovely villa, really private with great views but close to loads of beaches and amenities. We stayed as a family with young children and it was perfect for us. Very spacious and a hreat swimming pool. Check in was easy and the managers were v helpful
