Imagine a gorgeous Portuguese villa, your own, private heated* swimming pool, and palm trees swaying in the breeze. All the elements you need for the most perfect holiday in the Algarve.
Four-bedroom Villa Marquesa is superbly located less than a ten-minute stroll from the sandy beaches, shops, and restaurants in Gale and Lourenco. A sparkling, turquoise pool runs almost the breadth of the villa, bordered by sun loungers. Extending out from the property is a shady pergola, host to an al-fresco dining table and chairs. An adjacent open Portuguese BBQ allows you to grill up some tasty kebabs or fresh fish in the garden.
Inside, a split-level living and dining area features a large sink-into sofa and dining area. The bedrooms are individually designed with plush furnishings. Sumptuous throws, rugs, and dramatic headboards feature in these rooms. Two double bedrooms are ensuite and the two twin bedrooms also have a bathroom each, so plenty of room for up to eight guests.
Gale is famed for beautiful sandy beaches, if you love to sunbathe you’ll be spoilt for choice and if you’re travelling with children, you’re within easy reach of Blue Flag shores.

Couples retreat

We were 4 couples looking for a home base for our visit to Portugal. The villa was as advertised although there were some things that made our stay less than we expected.The wi-fi was terrible, for 8 adults using our devices, the wi-fi continued to drop in and out making it difficult to make plans for our travel through the two weeks.Entry to the villa was a challange, the key was located with no problem but getting the front gate to open and close was a challange, very frustrating.Sewer gas smell was spotty but there most days (it would come and go)The kitchen drain was continiuosly backing up. One shower drain blocked every couple of days as well. One shower, the design did not allow for the water to stay in the shower area and would run out onto the bathroom floor.The gas stove top needs servicing as the controls do not work as they are supposed to.Whenever we did contact the owner (4 times) she was quick to respond and provided temporary solutions during our stay.
