Meander along the water’s edge and watch the fishermen return with their daily catch of lobsters, crabs and salmon. The historic market town of Alnwick is just 6 miles away. Dominated by its dramatic fortress, it offers a wide range of amenities including a playhouse, indoor swimming pool and an excellent array of restaurants, shops, tea rooms and pubs. Take time to visit Barter Books, one of the largest secondhand bookshops in Britain, or discover the magnificent Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts.



Alnwick Garden, a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, has a grand cascade waterfall and poison garden, and guests can dine in the restaurant in the largest tree house in Europe.
