Bedrooms unclean

Downstairs lobby and restaurant has been nicely modernised. Bedroom was very dated and dirty and pillows are terrible.

Cheap city break

Beautiful hotel located in a lovely neighbourhood. Yes a little out the way but just a short journey in the teams take you where you need to be. Our room was lovely and clean and the shower was excellent in the morning. The beds and pillows where very soft, usually not my cup of tea but after roaming the streets all day they where great. Wifi was very slow and had to reconnect each time, but again it done the job. I wasn't there for business so wifi wasn't a huge issue. We didn't use breakfast so can't comment on that. Hotel staff all excellent and made us feel really welcome

Far from the madding crowd

The hotel itself is very nice, clean and comfortable. To walk in to Dam Square takes nearly an hour or 20 minutes by tram which is cheap and runs every 10 mins or so.

Nice but noisy

This was a comfortable hotel, but was very noisy. Apart from the tram running outside, there was a lot of noise inside the hotel. It seems that the floor/ceilings were not concrete and we could hear every footstep above us. This woke us up constantly throughout the night. The pillows were also very large and the duvets were a little heavy for the time of the year. The location was lovely.

Nice hotel in pleasant area

The hotel was well located in nice suburb of Amsterdam. For those who like walking and are fit, it is an enjoyable and interesting walk into the centre and for others, it is on direct tram routes to the city centre. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. A broken kettle was immediately replaced. The room was generally quiet although, being on a main road, trams could be heard. The room was clean in the important places although window frames, radiators etc need a clean. The beds and linen were good and very comfortable. The bathroom was well fitted with great shower and looked very clean; unfortunately there was a smell of urine around the toilet though - our only complaint that would stop us recommending this hotel. Buffet breakfast was quite adequate in a basic but nice seating area.

Quiet snug place to lay your weary head

Very comfortable. Lovely quiet location. Tram stop right outside door to city centre. Staff very helpful and kind. Not the Ritz, but extremely comfortable and clean.
