Right under the arch, this hotel is an old convent. The room we stayed in is large and rustic, opening out onto an interior garden that is is exquisite. The property is safe and in the middle of the action! It is 2 blocks to the Central Park and a block from the Merced Cathedral. There are restaurants, coffee shops, ATM machines, street venders, tuktuks, taxis, and abundant beauty just steps outside your door.

Este hotel fue una buena elección para mis vacaciones en Antigua Guatemala. Es hotel y restaurante. Además, está cerca de todo. De otros cafés y restaurantes, ruinas, iglesias importantes para visitar y está en el mismo arco de Santa Catalina. El servicio es muy bueno. Lo único es que el agua caliente no dura mucho para uno bañarse y hay que hacerlo muy rápido. Fuera de eso, todo bn.

The closest parking is like 4 blocks away/5 min walk but it’s easy to get around and very safe. Outside of that, the staff was amazing and allowed us to drop off our bags super early so we could enjoy the city before checking in, once we checked in our bags were waiting for us in our room. Incredible service!! The location was perfect but the staff made it incredible. The best thing was the amazing and professional staff that tended to all of our needs.

Great hotel and friendly staff. I was there as a part of a group. The other group members had rooms off to the side and the space was very nice, great gardens and green space, and quiet. My room was in between the outdoor restaurant and the buffet / event section in the back. Lots of noise starting at 6:30am and sometimes going till 9pm. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Only complaint is the noise, especially in the morning.

I stayed at Hotel Santa Catalina and overall, it was an okay experience, but there were a few issues. The hotel is well-located — it’s close to everything, and the staff is genuinely kind and helpful, which I really appreciated. However, the room could use some improvements. There was no hot water, so I had to shower with cold water. The WiFi didn’t work, which was frustrating. I also found a bug in the room, the TV was outdated, and the bathroom mirror was placed too high — I couldn’t even see myself properly. If you’re looking for a basic place with a good location and friendly staff, it might work for you. But if comfort, functionality, and amenities are important to you, this might not be the right fit.
