Tranquil, minimalist home just a short walk from rugged dunes.

The Dune House is a simple two bedroom home all setup with a full kitchen, a spacious bathroom and laundry machines. It features radiant heated floors as well as a private backyard with a fire pit and lounging chairs. The home is in the community known as Manila on a sand bar around the western edge of Humboldt Bay. From here it is a short drive either to Eureka or into Arcata.... or don't drive at all and just walk out the door, down the road, and out to the wild coastline with massive waves and tons of sea birds.
Bedroom #1 has a queen sized bed while the second bedroom has a full and a twin. The couch in the living room also folds down if you need a little more room. We have plenty of towels and bedding to make your stay comfortable and the kitchen is all set up to feed the family.
Beach access is through the school just a five minute walk South from the driveway.
During your stay at this vacation home, you'll be close to Humboldt Bay Maritime Museum. You'll find features like laundry facilities. The vacation home includes amenities such as a kitchen and a washer.

We checked in the first night and reached out the host and told them they had clean place inside but the surroundings we far from desirable......we have our 9 month old granddaughter with us and the beach and water is not clean enough for her parents to let her be near the water. We booked this place well in advance, but once we arrived we discovered that the place was not an area that we would consider a desired location we requested a refund for the fourth night to travel further on the coast to get to better beaches for her. This is definitely not desirable location concerning dune/beach…. we where denied a refund for Thursday of our 4 day booking….. please do your research before booking here. We forfeited the fourth night at a more desirable location…..this was rated 9.6 on Expedia VRBO….we travel a lot and giving the location and surrounding properties I would rate this 7.0 at best considering the location and conditions of properties in the area

Quick stay, Good time.

The dune house was nice and clean with everything you would need for your stay. Small touches like having coffee and tea available for the morning and soft blankets make it homey and cozy. The bed was comfortable which made getting some much needed rest easy. The location next to the dunes and the beaches was perfect and everything in Eureka and Arcata is just a short dive away. Super easy to check in and very nice stay we will definitely come again.

Great place, convenient location and responsive hosts!

We had a great time at Dune House A. Very clean and comfortable. We had a small issue with heat and hot water the first night and the host came right away and fixed it. Went for a walk to the dune beach nearby, the sequoia park zoo, trinidad to spot the elk and stopped at Agate Beach at the end of the day.Very convenient location for all the area offers! Even close enough for door dash if you’re too tired from adventuring at the end of the day to go out.

Better than expected

Place is much bigger than it looks in the photos. Nicely set up outside of town. I almost gave the overall rating 4 stars because the beds were very soft. I prefer firm, but I’m also a very sensitive sleeper, so that may not be the case for others. It is as very clean and quiet. Host was an excellent communicator!

Absolutely loved this cottage, perfect size for 2-4 guests, very very clean with comfortable beds. Everything was provided, even a coffee maker & Keurig machine! If you know you know! Lol! The beach was a 10 - 15 minute walk away! The only thing we didn’t care for was how close the neighbors were, lots of coming and going, although they were quiet when doing so. The neighbors porch set high up and a person could see right down into the cottage. But that could be totally remedied with curtains or blinds in the kitchen and dining area. There was No yelling or loud music. We would stay again.

Quiet location that you could hear the ocean at night if you left the windows open. Extremely clean and well supplied with needed items. Heating system was through the floor and the backyard was not usable at this time.
