Walk to Haywood Rd/River Arts - Elegantly Restored 1870 Home, Bennett Suite

This site is for the Bennett Suite only.

The Bennett Suite has full-size beds in both bedrooms, sleeping a total of four people. Bennett features a spacious and comfortable living room, an eclectic dining room, a gourmet, fully-appointed chef's kitchen, two peaceful bedrooms, a period-correct and historically renovated ultra-modern bathroom, a shared front porch with rocking chairs, and a private back porch.

Come and enjoy the historic Bennett Suite of Inn on Westwood, which is located in the heart of funky West Asheville. West Asheville is known for its hip, vintage, and laid-back vibe, with local restaurants serving up comfort food, music venues booking up-and-coming acts, and shops filled with yet-to-be-discovered treasures. All are very walkable and friendly.

This private vacation home, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was built in the 1870s and converted into an Inn in 2014. Full of special touches, it features 13-foot ceilings, arched double doors, and beautiful crown molding. Rooms are spacious and filled with light from the grand, original floor-to-ceiling windows. Enjoy the private back porch with your morning coffee or watch the sunset over the mountains with an evening cocktail.

Amenities- The home is fully stocked for your vacation needs with complimentary tea and coffee, red and white wine, beer, granola bars, chocolate, and a chef's kitchen ready for you to use. Enjoy plush towels, bathrobes, and our Aveda bath products. A hairdryer, make-up wipes, an iron, an ironing board, coat hangers, and wireless Internet are available.

Outdoors
Enjoy a game of cornhole or use the fire pit for roasting marshmallows on cool mountain evenings. The over one-acre grassy backyard is available for any outdoor activities you would like to enjoy.

We want you to enjoy your stay in Asheville, unplug, and unwind. Therefore, there are no TVs at the Inn, but there is the ultimate high-speed wireless internet service.
House Rules - No smoking or vaping in the house. No TVs at the house, so you can unwind and relax.

For the comfort of all guests staying in the Inn in either the Atkinson Suite or the Bennett Suite, quiet hours are observed between 10 pm and 7 am.

There is NO on-site laundry or daily cleaning services. For guests enjoying extended stays, we provide additional towels upon request.

Children are always welcome, but unfortunately, we cannot accept pets.

Interaction with Guests
We are always available for questions, recommendations, emergencies, etc. While each suite is completely separate and very private, be aware that this is an Inn, and unless you rent the entire house, expect to hear some possible noise from other guests next door.

These are two completely separate units/suites, each having its own kitchens, dining rooms, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, etc. The only shared portion is the large covered old-fashioned front porch.

The Neighborhood
The Inn is located in the thriving community of West Asheville. There are a dozen bars, breweries, coffee shops, farm-to-table restaurants, and cute and quirky shops all within walking distance. It is only two miles from downtown Asheville or South Slope and a half-mile from New Belgium Brewing in the River Arts District.

Looking for some pampering? De La Terre Skincare offers several treatments in its store near the River Arts District. Check out the local farmer's market or bike along the French Broad River Park's many paved paths. It is a very family-friendly neighborhood.

Getting Around
Asheville has a bus system, taxis, Uber, Lyft, sidewalks, and many bike racks to help you get around in your preferred style. The Inn has easy access to the interstate and local attractions.

Reserving Both Suites
If you're interested in reserving both the Atkinson Suite and Bennett Suite, please state this in your inquiry. There are large, ten-foot-tall arched double doors that we open so you and your guests may freely go between suites. If interested in the sister suite- Atkinson suite, the listing number in Vrbo is 1852982

Details were incredibly welcoming, including robes, makeup wipes, chocolates, wine, and bottles of water. The unit was far prettier than the photos could show. The location was nice, in an up and coming neighborhood and easily walkable to Haywood avenue cafes, restaurants, breweries, and shops.

Super cool place. Our 16 month old loved all the toys, and we had such a fun time eating with the big windows in the kitchen. A unique spot for sure that’s in walking distance to many bars and restaurants and coffee shops made the stay really nice.

The check-in went smoothly. Beautiful property. Lovely inn and decorative touches. Extremely clean and the most comfortable beds ever. We appreciated the little extras that were left for us ( wine, snacks, etc). A lot of thought went into creating this restful bit of paradise.

Charming Property

The property was well appointed and clean. The only thing that would improve the home would be having window coverings in the kitchen and sun porch. Otherwise it was perfect!

Central to the best of everything Asheville Yet Somehow Tucked Away/ A Foodie Locale As Well

Tucked Away, yet, in and among a very lovely and walkable neighborhood. Gorgeous sunroom with a west-facing rolling lawn and mountaintop view boasted incredible sunsets. East-facing sunrises on the front veranda not to be missed either. Bedrooms were gorgeous and equally invited beautifully restful night's sleep. Even the bathroom was a roomy and inviting delight. The westerly back lawn, ever-viewed from the sunroom and kitchen picture window, is lovely entirely in its own right with bunnies greeting the morning, fireflies lighting dusk; with the lawn further alit after sunset, cached among one of the stand of trees, a string of subtle lighting invites a couple more hours on the evening lawn or further offers a visual delight from the sunroom. In fact the sunroom becomes a fun evening hangout for reading, games, plenty of room for laptop games and board games simultaneously. Incredible locally owned eateries also seemed tucked away in among the neighborhood, some very, very close at hand many within walking distance, some of the best among them could easily be walked or driven past and never know they were there, a foodie paradise. We always seemed to opt for take-out and bring a variety of dishes back, our spread heartily traded and shared with each other by the fabulous picture window views of the Bennett Suite.

Amazing stay and family friendly

We loved our stay at this VRBO! Beautiful historic home with a great location near everything we wanted to do. Our 1.5 year old son loved the property as well, especially the basket of vintage toys in the sun room! There were even toddler size utensils in the kitchen which he used. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back some day!

Consistently superior environment and service

This is an an extraordinary property in a very pleasant and peaceful environment. It is impeccably maintained and cleaned. Despite being a historic building with vintage furnishing, the plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical systems have been updated, functioning superbly throughout our stay. The property managers and maintenance staff are first rate...very responsive and communicative.. Worked with us patiently as we had some changes to our planned itinerary. We could not recommend this property and staff more highly.

Historic home with modern touches

We really enjoyed staying in this piece of Asheville history. The location is quiet, and West Asheville is certainly trendy, albeit might not be everyone’s style. We enjoyed some of the local eateries, breweries and artisan shops. The only negative was having other renters in the adjoining unit the last night of our stay. They were nice folks, but it’s really like you’re all in the same room as far as hearing way more than you care to.
