Beautiful hotel in central Athens

Beautiful hotel with lovely rooms, a nice roof terrace with a view of the Acropolis, friendly staff and a cute old early 20th century lift. The breakfast was good: it's self serve with a variety of cold options such as Greek spinach and cheese pies, cakes, cheese and ham, yogurt, fruit, cereal etc. There are hot options, but these are quite limited. The hotel staff are really nice and friendly and the rooms were well maintained throughout our stay. The roof terrace is nice, and you can see the Acropolis. It's well located in a central part of Athens - only a 15-20 minute walk to Plaka and the Acropolis. The only negatives for us was the lack of storage in the room (Elegant Double Room) and the mosquito issue. There was practically no storage in the room other than a clothes rail and some very small drawers. With the mosquitos, the problem stems from how the cleaners leave the windows open after cleaning, which allows in mosquitos. There were 18 on the ceiling when we arrived and I spent quite a while killing them all before bed. I obviously missed some as we still got bitten over the four nights. Installing mosquito nets on the windows would stop this being an issue. These issues did not mar our stay and we still really enjoyed it and would recommend the hotel to others.
