Plaka is built on top of the residential areas of the ancient town of Athens. It is known as the "Neighborhood of the Gods" due to its proximity to the Acropolis and its many archaeological sites. It has also many restaurants and taverns,where you can taste the traditional greek food, as well as bars, cafes and shops. Very close to Plaka there is a picturesque area called Anafiotika. On the other side, 5 minutes walking distance there is another Athenian neighborhood called Monastiraki where you can find also taverns ,restaurants, cafes, bars and bistros. Furthermore, near the apartment there is a mini market, one grocery store, a pharmacy, pastry shops and bakery as well as restaurants and shops. Many Athens centre nightlife hotspots (such as Plaka, Thisseion, Monastiraki, Psyrri, Gkazi , Koukaki and Kolonaki) can be directly reached by foot, Metro or bus and taxi.
There's also a bus station outside of the building, where you can take the hop on hop off bus to see Athens or go to the southern suburbs of Athens, such as Glyfada ,Voula , Vouliagmemi ,where are organised beaches to enjoy the sea and the sun and Sounio where you can see the Temple of Poseidon.
