VRBO Review: Disappointing and Hazardous Stay at Hanover PropertyOur stay at this Hanover VRBO was far from the “epitome of luxury” promised in the listing. The property was riddled with issues that made our trip uncomfortable and unsafe. Room 2 was missing its remote, and the common area TV didn’t work at all. The smoke detectors had no batteries, a serious safety concern. An unknown car was parked in the garage, and a door was busted in, raising security worries. The paint job was atrocious—sloppy, with no proper trimming, and you could see old blue paint behind unmoved TVs. My 10-year-old could’ve done better.Hazards abounded: broken decor endangered my daughter, carpet nails protruded at bathroom entryways, and exposed nails in the bathroom floor were a risk. The queen bed was half-broken, with a leaning mattress, and the master bathroom sink had clogged hair sticking out. One tub was unusable for bathing, and the kitchen’s PUR water filter was red, with an empty water jug—pointless. Half the light bulbs were burnt out, and two bedrooms lacked blinds, with one curtain rod detached. No hand soap was provided anywhere, and the place reeked of musty weed.The listing falsely claimed a 3-minute drive to the airport—it’s 11 minutes. There was no Keurig as shown in photos, and the decor was distasteful. Wood framing was coming off, and the overall maintenance was abysmal. Worst of all, the host was unresponsive to texts and VRBO messages, leaving us to deal with these issues
