Someone Living in our Vrbo

We arrived to check in to the property and the door was unlocked. Inside, there was half eaten food on the counters, dirty dishes in the sink, trash all over the floor, and dirty linens on the couch. The rooms were not made and the apartment was clearly not set up for our stay. I contacted the host and his response was that he had taken the listing off the website. However, the listing was still active on the website until the day we were supposed to check out. We ended up having to last minute find a hotel, which was a huge financial burden and a time burden. The host would not respond to my requests for a refund for the miscommunication and has since taken the listing off Vrbo's website.

Good Location

The property manager had good communication prior to our arrival. The first question i asked was if he had a coffee pot on the premises, his answer was yes. He then attempted to cancel our reservation due to there being no hot water due to construction, but it would be back on Saturday. We informed him we would be fine until Sat with no hot water. We checked several times theoughout the day and even after midnight when we returned following the concert but no hot water. The apartment itself was slightly cleaned but had only 1 coffee cup, refrigerator was not clean, and the floor had not been swept. The bathrooms were fairly clean and beds were comfortable. The closets in the bedrooms were oddly taped closed and living room closet was shoved full of stuff. There was no coffee pot, but he was going to deliver one after 9pm, we bought one instead. The couches were not comfortable at all. I contacted the host the next morning and let him know we never did have any hot water. He stated he would refund one night of our stay. I thanked him but never received the refund. I sent him a message this morning about the refund but haven't heard anything back. While our stay wasn't the best and thank goodness we did not have to cook, it did provide us with a roof over our heads and super cold but loud AC. The super bad Marijuana smell is something we all could have done without. Bathrooms appeared to have had some updates but overall not somewhere we would pick to stay again.
