A very good option for the price. Obviously, you are not getting a 5 star hotel, but you are paying a very reasonable price for a place that is clean, spacious, cost to the beach, and with lots of dining options nearby. Staff is friendly and helpful. You will need a long cable for USB charging as this is an older style motel without power outlets near the beds/chairs.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Place needs some love on the outside with gardens and building. Peeling paint on window frames. Older building that needs love. Convenient for where I needed to be the next morning. Would book again.

Room is quite dated, need some revival. Bathroom wasn't clean. Dirty all around the skirts with dead little flies, shower was very dirty on the titles and corners, you could feel the grease when passing the fingers on it. Wouldn't stay again.

All my needs were met… the unit had all appliances etc, great cafes within 200 m, beautiful park and playground within 400 m and the beach only 100 m away. Felt very safe and so easy to park right outside my door. Also dog friendly. My host was extremely welcoming and pleasant. Definitely will go back.

We loved the location so close to the beach. The neighbourhood is pleasant and felt safe. Access to the garden and a small outside area with table and chairs was very pleasant. The motel is clearly from a bygone era – this added some quirky charme, on the other hand despite some modernisations the place is fairly tired and needs a lot of tlc. While the place is mostly clean, there were small ants, and some missed dirt in hard to reach places. The hot water pressure was very low and made for a decisively disappointing shower experience. The friendly and welcoming manager sort of makes up for the shortcomings with her friendliness but there's only so much she can do.

Great motel

We enjoyed our stay at Aarangi. We had a very friendly welcome from the excellent manager. We had the spacious family room for 2 of us, but it would be more than adequate for a family of 4. Excellent value for money in a very nice area, close to the beach.

Awful motel and dishonest staff. Avoid.

Horrible stay in this horrible old motel. We were lied to when checking in and not given the room we booked. After realising the bait-and-switch we requested to be out in the right room, which the staff and manager protested and gave multiple made up excuses (none of which aligned with the others or were true). They finally admitted they were holding it in hope of a walk-in to arrive, which is bizarre for a motel to screw over their already paying guests, when we were almost the only people in the whole place. The rooms were old, filthy bathrooms and didn't have fire alarms. They eventually conceded the room was empty and we should be in it, and refused to offer any discount for the terrible experience or hour lost relocation my family to the new room. We won't ever stay at this awful motel ever again. Note: photos limited to 8, so could only show a few things. The shower was blocked and disgusting, among multiple other issues.

I stayed overnight at Aarangi Motel with some friends and it was a great experience; the manager was very friendly, we had safe and easy access to our room and were a short walk away from the waterfront and beach at Mission Bay. Also dog friendly! Will definitely come again :)
