The location is great. the hotel is renovated. It is the lack of service ruins the entire experience. We stayed in the hotel for almost 2 weeks. Even though we put the sign for housekeeping, they didn’t clean our room. this happened multiple times. We needed call and ask for our room to be cleaned many times. also they didn't filled up the hand soap dispenser. We asked many times to be filled and they failed to do so. At the end we gave up and bought bar soap. There were times where I used the laundry machine to clean our towels or we asked for fresh towels due housekeeping not doing their job. One of the days when we asked for fresh towel we also asked for hand soap, they gave us a full bottle. The next they when they were cleaning the room they took the hand soap away and left the empty bottle again. On paper housekeeping comes between 9am to 3pm however in reality the housekeeping is there until 1pm. After that there is no one in the hotel to assist you. Even on the days that they did the cleaning we noticed they didn’t vacuum the floor or cleaned inside the shower… If you are staying for more than 2-3 days, this hotel may become a bit problematic due to lack of service.

We absolutely loved our stay at Arluxia. The location was perfect, a two minute walk to Ponsonby Rd and all it has to offer, and we went down to the Viaduct for an evening, less than a 10 min drive. Amenities we loved; parking, laundry, kitchenette setup (kettle, mini fridge, utensils, dishware, microwave, sink, Nespresso machine…) The view from our room was great, we enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck while taking in the view. The bed was comfortable, black out curtains and a/c all added to great sleeps. We used it as a base for our 3 nights in a tournament in a town nearby, Oratia, and it worked out nicely. It was always something we looked forward to, coming back to the room, and not having to fuss over much because we had everything we needed, either in the room or a 2 minute walk away. We had a couple requests that were responded to very quickly, communication was excellent. We really loved our stay and highly recommend it.

Upon arrival, I was initially confused as I was not aware that there were no staff present on site and that the check-in process was entirely self-service. While this information may have been included in the booking email, I feel the hotel could improve clarity by highlighting this detail in capital letters, as the absence of staff was quite confusing at first. Despite the unusual start, my communication with 'Brad @ Reception' via text /call was excellent. Responses were prompt and extremely efficient, providing the support I needed. The room itself was lovely, and the location was great, which contributed positively to my stay. The complimentary snacks were very well received, thank you. Although I was initially unsettled by no on-site staff, having become familiar with the self-check-in system now and emergency ‘guest key’ availability, I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Room was spotless, lovely complimentary snacks. Late checkout at 11am granted. Great comfy bed and bedding. Only 4 stars as Balcony area not private when neighbours are out there as well. Also I had to park in mobility car park as all car parks were taken up. Otherwise enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

Excellent location

The location is excellent being one street off the main road so very close to shops and restaurants and despite being so close to the main road, the room was quiet with no noise from traffic etc. The room was great and spacious, and excellent parking. My only very minor feedback/suggestion would in the bathroom there was no shelf or area to leave items such as toothbrush/hair products etc which would have been useful
