Summary:
Set above Hekerua Bay and surrounded by native bush, Hekerua Heights is a calm, well-laid-out home with sea views and generous outdoor spaces. With open living, multiple decks, and a private outdoor spa, it’s a relaxed base for couples, families, or friends wanting space and privacy close to beaches and villages.
The Space:
Hekerua Heights is arranged across two levels and designed to make the most of its elevated position. The upper level holds the main living areas, where the kitchen, dining, and lounge connect in a single open-plan space. Large glass doors bring in natural light and open directly to the deck, creating an easy indoor–outdoor flow and wide views across the bush canopy toward Hekerua Bay.
The kitchen is modern and practical, set up for shared meals and everyday use without feeling closed off from the rest of the space. The deck on this level works well for outdoor dining, morning coffee, or simply sitting with the view.
One bedroom is located on the main level near the living area. Downstairs, two additional bedrooms open directly to their own decks, offering separation and privacy for different guests. The master bedroom is positioned to capture morning light and bay views, while the remaining bedrooms provide calm, comfortable spaces suited to families or mixed groups.
There are two bathrooms in total. One is located indoors with a walk-in shower, while the second connects to an outdoor shower area surrounded by greenery, designed for rinsing off after the beach or enjoying the outdoor setting.
An outdoor spa is tucked into the bush, providing a private space to unwind at the end of the day.
Due to stairs between levels, the property may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.

The Neighborhood:
Hekerua Heights is located between Hekerua Bay and Sandy Bay in a quiet, residential area surrounded by native bush. Both bays are within walking distance and are known for calm swimming and sheltered conditions.
Oneroa Village is a short drive away and offers supermarkets, cafés, boutiques, galleries, and a range of dining options. Popular local venues include The Oyster Inn for seafood and Fenice for Italian dining.
Several of Waiheke’s well-known vineyards, including Mudbrick, Cable Bay, Tantalus Estate, and Stonyridge, are within easy reach by car or bus.
Getting Around:
The nearest bus stop on Hekerua Road is just a few minutes’ walk away, connecting you directly to Oneroa Village, Palm Beach, and the Matiatia ferry terminal.
Visiting the vineyards couldn’t be easier, leave the car at home and hop on the bus. You can relax over tastings at Tantalus Estate, Stonyridge, Casita Miro, or Wild on Waiheke, and stop at The Heke Kitchen, Brewery & Distillery for a craft beer or wood-fired lunch on the way back.
Taxis and rideshares are available across the island, but they can be expensive, especially in the evenings or on weekends, so the bus is often the most relaxed way to get around.
Other Things to Note:
Like many Waiheke homes, Hekerua Heights runs on rainwater, so we ask guests to use it thoughtfully during their stay.
A boat mooring is available in Hekerua Bay on request, please let us know in advance if you’d like to use it.
Minimum stay requirements apply, seven nights from mid-December to mid-January, three nights on holiday weekends, and two nights at all other times.
Interaction with Guests:
The home is set up for a private and independent stay. For life-threatening emergencies, including medical events or fire, guests must call 111 immediately. For urgent, non-life-threatening property issues outside business hours, an after-hours contact number is provided in the arrival information.
