The hotel was absolutely fabulous but we did have a couple of minor issues. The first morning that the room was made up they didn't replenish the tea and coffee. Also with you eco plan, towel rails would be helpful but the bathroom was beautiful and towel rails would ruin the look so most people would throw the towel on the floor 🤷 we did have a problem with the shower overflowing (507). If you use the rainfall head the drain can't manage the flow. The restaurant was amazing (best lamb I've ever had,). The receptionist was eager and enthusiastic which always is a good thing. They also didn't account for 3 people in the room, 2 teacups, 2 coffee cups, 2 wine glasses. There were 3 towels though. We would absolutely return because it had a really charming, old fashioned, classy feel overall ❤️

The area gets a bit unsettled at night but fable is perfectly located with impeccable amenities (most comfortable bed and shower of our two week trip) and an incredibly attentive staff. We would stay again in a moment!

5 star hotel rated, but didn't feel 5 star. Room was on 8th floor, had to walk up from 7th floor (elevator doesn't go to top). Room was a bit on the small side and bathroom was cramped with no space for toiletries at all. our friends stayed on 6th floor with same booking - much larger bathroom. No tub, no pool, spa was broken. TV cast link to cell phone didn't work (staff said prior clients stole dingle from back of TV and couldn't be readily replaced). Dined in restaurant one night - Good menu and service. Staff was Excellent! Helped with bag transfers, room services, valet car parking. They acknowledged our complaints and compensated monetarily with apologies. Stayed at an MGallery hotel in Adelaide that was over the top great, so had high expectations that weren't met.

Our recent stay at Fable Hotel Auckland was deeply disappointing and fell far short of the five-star standard it claims. While the rooms and restaurant were nicely decorated and clean, we arrived late after a delayed flight and were left locked outside for 30 minutes, despite ringing the buzzer, repeatedly calling reception, and even contacting Expedia. During this time, there were drug users or homeless people outside the hotel shouting at us, which made the situation feel unsafe and very distressing. When a staff member finally appeared to let us in, it looked as though he had just been asleep. There was no concierge available to help with our bags. Breakfast was chaotic and inconsistent — one morning we were given a very limited buffet, and another we were allowed to order from the à la carte menu without explanation. Complimentary bottled water was missing from the room, and when we asked for it, we were told to drink tap water from the bathroom unless we specifically requested bottles. The gym was extremely poor, with just a single bike and a small weights bench crammed into a tiny space that felt like a cupboard. Overall, this hotel did not provide the level of service, safety, or facilities that a five-star property should deliver.
