The Space:
From the moment you step through the front door, the ocean draws you in. Straight ahead, the home opens into the main living area, where large doors frame spectacular sea views and open directly onto outdoor spaces overlooking the water.
Flowing on from the lounge is a spacious kitchen and dining area, all enjoying the same breathtaking outlook. The kitchen is expansive and fully equipped for a comfortable, well-catered stay, with a generous butler’s pantry alongside that keeps the main space beautifully organised and ideal for entertaining.
This level features a large dining table seating up to eight guests, as well as an additional card table. A gas fireplace adds warmth and ambience, making the home inviting year-round.
From the dining and lounge area, sliding glass doors lead out to the barbecue and entertaining area, complete with a gazebo and uninterrupted water views stretching along the coastline. Outdoor living continues with an eight-seater dining table and a separate lounge area, all positioned to take in the full sweep of the ocean.
Also on this level is a king bedroom with stunning water views and an adjoining study. The main bathroom with a bath is located nearby, along with a separate powder room. A second gas fireplace in the living area creates a warm, comfortable space during cooler months.
Every room on this level enjoys ocean views, with the exception of the laundry and butler’s pantry.
Upstairs, the home opens into a second living area with reverse-cycle air conditioning and heating, along with panoramic ocean views.
The primary upstairs bedroom features a king bed, beautiful water views, and its own private ensuite. The front-facing bedroom also offers a king bed and looks straight out over the ocean, with direct access to the upper balcony. A third bedroom on this level is a smaller room with two single beds and is best suited to children or single adults.
An additional bathroom upstairs includes a shower and toilet.
Step out onto the upper-level balcony, which spans from the second living area through to the front bedroom. From here, enjoy elevated views over Onetangi Beach, looking straight down the shoreline.

The Neighborhood:
Wairua by Stay Waiheke sits above Onetangi Beach, a long sweep of white sand known for swimming, gentle walks, and relaxed beachfront dining. This area of the island is popular for its open feel, wide beach, and easy access to both nature and food and wine experiences.
Along the beachfront, Ki Māha and Three Seven Two are well regarded for long lunches, sunset dinners, and cocktails by the water. Obsidian Vineyard is close by for boutique wine tastings, while Casita Miro offers Mediterranean-inspired dining in a vineyard setting.
The home is also well placed for exploring further afield, with Stonyridge Vineyard, Tantalus Estate, and Wild on Waiheke all within easy reach. For a more casual afternoon or evening, The Heke is a popular option for food, drinks, and a relaxed garden setting.
This location suits guests wanting a balance of beach time, vineyard visits, and a private retreat to return to at the end of the day.
Getting Around:
Wairua is well positioned for exploring the island. Onetangi Beach and its cafés are a short drive away, with Ostend, Oneroa Village, and both ferry terminals easily reached by car.
Regular bus services run from Onetangi, stopping near major wineries including Tantalus, Stonyridge, Wild on Waiheke, and The Heke, before continuing through Oneroa and on to the Matiatia passenger ferry. Taxis and rental vehicles are available, although taxis can be expensive during peak periods. There is easy parking available at the property.
