Visit the salt pans, where salt is still produced today. Smell the thousands of almond trees, taste sweet dates, sample the island's wine and discover Sicilian cuisine! Nature lovers can explore the Oasi del Simeto nature reserve. Visit the historic old town of Syracuse, which is located on the small island of Ortygia. Immerse yourself in antiquity and archaeological finds and discover the Temple of Apollo and the unique baroque cathedral. The Ear of Dionysius and the Roman amphitheater are also popular destinations. Don't forget the market!
