The Hummingbird Casita- A peaceful and romantic architectural gem

This unique, custom-built casita sits on six secluded acres in the Texas Hill Country, nestled in a grove of trees between Austin (25 minutes) and Dripping Springs (15 minutes). Ideal for a peaceful escape or exploring local wineries, distilleries, breweries, wedding venues, and outdoor attractions, the casita offers both privacy and proximity.
Designed by a skilled craftsman, the home features vaulted ceilings, pecan wood floors, custom cabinetry, and abundant natural light from wall-to-wall French doors and large windows. Thoughtfully curated art adds warmth throughout. The living room includes a cozy couch, 40” HDTV with cable, stereo system, DVD/CD player, and a work desk. High-speed internet (350+ Mbps) is provided.
The romantic bedroom has an organic Naturepedic king bed with countryside views, room darkening curtains, a walk-in closet, and soft robes. The ensuite bathroom features a glass-tile shower with marble countertops.
Outside, a full-length porch overlooks a meadow with rocking chairs, a dining area for two, a hot tub, gas grill, and fire pit—perfect for sunsets, birdwatching, and stargazing.


IMPORTANT NOTE: The use of the fire pit is subject to Travis County Burn Ban restrictions.

Rates are for 2 people. A third guest will be charged $25 per day.
The couch can be used as bed if needed to accommodate a third person.

There are so many things we loved about our stay at the Hummingbird Casita. The host was incredibly responsive to our needs and made us feel genuinely welcomed. The casita itself was immaculate and had so many little details that made our stay perfect - there was filtered water for drinking, robes and a hangar near the hot tub, full kitchen set of utensils and plenty of coffee. The best part was the tranquil setting - you'll want to spend time on the porch just soaking up nature - the sound of the wind in the trees, the occasional white-tailed deer or rabbit sighting and of course the many wild birds that frequent the well-stocked feeder. This was truly a place to unwind, recharge and escape from the daily grind. We will definitely be back!!!

Enchanting cottage stay

My husband and I loved being here as we had some life admin to do and wanted a relaxing staycation to accomplish it. We accomplished everything on our list then went to drink wine nearby then relaxed in the hot tub. The home was gorgeous. Special Place close to Austin

Andrea made our weekend unforgettable by going above and beyond in every way—from timely communication during booking to ensuring our stay was perfect. La Casita truly has it all: breathtaking views, a fabulous movie collection, a wonderful variety of visiting birds (and even deer!), a cozy stack of books, a fire pit, bathrobes, comfortable rocking chairs, a massive bed, beautiful furnishings, and an amazing hot tub. It was the perfect setting for a life-changing moment, too—I proposed to my partner here, and there was no way she could say no in such a magical place! Over the years, I have probably stayed in 25 “short term rentals” in the US, Europe, & Asia. The Hummingbird Casita is now my all-time favorite. I share this cautiously, because I want to share the truth about this magical property, but I hope it doesn’t become so popular that I won’t be able to book it again for my future annual trips to Austin!For an individual or couple who are looking for a quiet, peaceful, beautiful retreat in the Austin, I feel I found a gem that truly feels like “home“. The silence & the beauty of this land and structures is sublime. The setting of the Casita on the owner’s property with a total of 6 acres of lightly wooded, live oak trees offers amazing privacy for a weekend or a weeklong retreat. The design of the Casita is so architecturally, pleasing, simple & elegant. The decorations & attention to detail allow for a very comfortable elegant stay. The artwork in the house only adds & magnifies all the other elements.I sent a text to friends as I sat & watched the deer graze in an opening amongst the trees near sunset. This place is so silent…The only thing I hear are the birds & the butterflies!As I said to the owner on arrival in a text… “This is even better than advertised.” On my last full day there, the owners and I did get a chance to meet face-to-face. They keep a lovely distance so that you have privacy.Give yourself the gift of nurturing time at the Hummingbird, but try to leave a few days open for my next visit!

Peaceful Oasis

Property is beautiful and well maintained. Ample space for two people and large backyard. The owners thought of everything one might need to make their stay awesome, including ample toiletries, towels, and kitchenware. The hot tub is an amazing spot to watch all of the birds and wildlife, and the deck and rocking chairs allowed for early morning tea with a view. Access to a yoga mat made it possible to continue my practice, and it was fun to explore the surrounding neighborhoods on foot to stretch the legs. The location excellent and is in close proximity to dripping springs where there are breweries, wineries, and restaurants galore.

What a find!

My husband and I were so pleased with our stay at this VRBO. The space is beautiful and well appointed; owners thought of everything. Comfortable bed; delightful, clean hot tub; kitchen has everything needed. The owners live on site and are in the vacation rental business; very fast responses. Beautiful and Serene Property

You will not regret staying at this beautiful casita. From the moment we walked up to the front door, we felt the peace and calm of this place. The inside is an architectural delight-lovely vaulted ceiling with large picture windows that entice you onto the back deck where you can enjoy a multitude of wildlife. Every need has been thought of by the gracious hosts. Uncomplicated, understated elegance-you will LOVE it!

peaceful relaxation

This was such a beautiful place, very relaxing and peaceful. We made friends with several deer that came to visit and get some leftovers for breakfast and midday snack. Andra was quick to answer any question we had and gave us a great suggestion of a park near by to visit. After staying here, we have decided that we could retire to a place like this. A small home on an amazing property with daily wildlife visitors and bird watching. We hope to go back and stay again.

Little slice of heaven

Had a great getaway - this space provides everything one needs to escape from life and get some quiet relaxation for a few days. This house cannot be adequately captured in pictures- it exceeded expectations. Had all the amenities I needed. Lots of birds, squirrels, and deer around which added to the beautiful atmosphere. Hosts are very kind and really dedicated to provided a good experience. Loved the bed- super comfortable. Everything was better than I could have dreamed. Thank you for this great experience.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the Casita. It was quiet and the host was very responsive during our stay. The area has so many cute towns close by and we enjoyed a recommended bakery in the area during our stay. I would love to come visit again and explore more. The Casita has all the amenities and was a perfect place for our trip.
