The water pressure is not great, nor is the hot water supply. The towels are scratchy and the light is poor in the bathrooms if you want to apply make-up. The air conditioner was quite loud in the room. Staff was great. Only one elevator was working, so it was faster to use the stairs.

We stayed several nights at this hotel. It met all three of my criteria, clean, quiet, and safe. It's an easy walk to downtown venues/restaurants/bars, especially if you're a regular walker like I am. There's a lot of homeless people in the downtown area of Austin, and a couple of people living in the empty lot across the street from the hotel, but they were always cordial as I walked past them to 6th Street or Congress Ave. The staff was friendly, the room was clean & spacious, and the breakfast was great!

This hotel has pluses and minuses. The staff and breakfast are top notch. The rooms are comfortable enough, but no soundproofing. I was awakened several times per night. The last night there was a big concert outside my window, so the night desk person was kind enough to move me. That room had a broken a/c, but was quiet at least. The hot water in the shower is non existent. The neighborhood is close enough to walk to 6th Street, the Rainey district, etc. but there is a large homeless shelter one block away, which can be off putting. But love the staff and breakfast!
