Check-in was smooth, and the valet staff was very attentive. However, valet parking costs $63 per night, which is quite expensive. We were also offered a room upgrade with a view for an additional $23 per night (plus tax), along with a destination fee of $28 per night (plus tax). The added fees quickly piled up and made the stay feel overpriced.
The first night was peaceful, but protests took place every night afterward and are scheduled to continue for another 13 days. From approximately 7:00–10:00 p.m., there is significant noise unless your room is on the opposite side of the hotel with no view.
I was also disappointed by the extra convenience fees applied when charging items to the room. Paying additional fees simply for the convenience of room charging felt unnecessary. Pro tip: use your credit card throughout the hotel and do not charge purchases to your room.
I do want to give a shoutout to Julia (Night AGM), Eli (Guest Relations Manager), Austin (Front Desk), Chriss (Bellman), Leo (front desk) all of the valet staff & housekeeping, and Mikaela (front desk) for their excellent service. There is also a gentleman who works evenings in the coffee shop who was very kind—I regret not catching his name.
Federal Agents and government entities stay here frequently, so be aware that there is a higher police presence, additional security checks, and ongoing protests outside the hotel. Given the current situation and overall disruption, the stay was not worth the price.
