We didn't have hot water for 2 days. No discount was offered, other than they would give us a refund if we canceled staying there. No other hotels had 2 beds available. No coffee available in the hotel. No drinking cups/glasses in the rooms. Only thing good was it was cute.

The phone number we were given to contact for check in is not in service, which was a little concerning since we were told to contact them for check in steps. The hotel is convenient to beach and activities, there were no amenity available, no elevator, no air conditioning but the weather was amazing so it wasn't needed. The hotel is old but rooms well maintained. We paid a little more for an ocean veiw and that was nice. All in all it was just what we needed, a comfy small room for 1 night!

Needs a Little Love

I like to think of my self as extremely positive and hate leaving reviews that are mediocre but that was The Catalina Hotel experience for us. There’s a lot to be desired here, but let’s start with our keys stopped working and at 9am on a Sunday I waited for 30 minutes for someone at the front desk and the number on the counter for emergencies went to voicemail. We had holes in our screens with moths and bugs flying everywhere, Our fans and lights went rogue and were turning off and on at random times in the middle of the night (maybe haunted), but more like on a similar frequency with another controller in the hotel. All in all the hotel made for a bed to sleep in and it did its job but there are some simple fixes that make me think this place could be getting 5 stars. One is just fixing some of the basic things like the key card readers on the doors and the blinds…

Sink was next to my bed smh.The staff cabinet was rt next to my room they started going in and out the cabinet early in the morning so annoying. My t.v did not work the whole weekend they tried to fix it 😒 the 97.00 they refunded me was absolutely not enough.

This was an interesting stay. I called the morning of to confirm I could drop off my luggage early—no one mentioned the front desk closes at 7 PM and that I'd need to call an emergency number afterward. Luckily, someone was working late when I arrived. I had to carry my luggage up to the third floor, which wasn’t easy with a bad back. The room was okay, but one window screen was broken and the window didn’t close all the way. The carpet felt rough and dirty—thankfully I always bring flip-flops. The TV remote didn’t control the volume, so I had to adjust it manually. Also, when guests log into streaming accounts, they're not logged out—I ended up watching HBO Max on someone else’s account. The toilet didn’t flush properly and still didn’t work the next day. On my way out, I requested a repair and an ironing board (there was only an iron). Later that evening, I came back to find bugs all over the bathroom floor, carpet, and in my luggage. I called the emergency line again, and someone came to vacuum. Turns out they were coming through the broken screen. I closed the windows and stuffed the broken one with a towel. The shower had stray hairs, which were long straight & brown, very different from my short curly hair. I had to use my hands to rinse the walls. Flip-flops saved me again. Staff was nice, but I won’t stay here again. I’ll pay more for a cleaner, more functional room. The owners really need to update the property—starting with the carpet.

The room was comfortable and the vintage decor was nice.The bed and pillows were comfortable.We had no coffee maker and microwave.There wasn't any coffee or even water in the lobby.The staff was not friendly,they didn't even try to accommodate us with anything.

I booked two rooms according to what was shown on line. One room was nice and the other room for the same price was the size of a closet. Could hardly walk around the bed. The bathroom was a toilet and shower door in a 3x3 room where even the door could not open unless it hit the toilet. The shower head was 5 ft off the ground. The sink was in the room because there really wasn’t a bathroom. Very unhappy but the staff was pleasant.

Hotel was great location, room was clean, floor above us was very noisy as though they did not have carpeting. Had a lot of issues with their add on roku device working over the Amazon TV. Plus they ran out of ice buckets?

Room was spacious and very cute. The bed was comfortable. Ceiling fan with remote, Yay. No AC but it's cool enough at night to be very comfortable. It's not super quiet, but that's to be expected beciase you are so close to town.

It was very close by to all the main areas and the beach in Catalina. It's kid friendly and staff members are very friendly, that when we got there early we were able to leave our luggage until our check-in time to explore before checking into our room
